The wedding

"oh gawd, this is practically the worst day of my life" I thought to myself as I saw the people around me.

It's really funny how so many people came to witness my life being ruined by my own father. The mere thought of this just makes me so angry with the man he's become.

"Dear family and friends," the priest says and this brings me back to the real deal that's on my plate,"we're gathered here today to celebrate John Zulu son of George Zulu and Lusubilo Avril Chansa daughter of Mulenga Chansa as they join hands in holy matrimony."

I look at the people around me and I can't help but be hurt by their presence. They all want to see my life get ruined and they're smiling about it.

As in this is the twenty first century and I'm being forced to get married to a man I don't love. Just what do these people think? Who are they to decide for me who I should get married to.

"Do you John Zulu son of George Zulu take Lusubilo Avril Chansa daughter of Mulenga Chansa to be your lawfully wedded wife?" I hear the priest ask my supposedly husband to be.

"I do," he says.

What the heck! Did he really not get that he wasn't supposed to say he does. I practically saw him as a brother because he and I grew up together but I guess he caught feelings for me or maybe he was trying to use me as an asset like most rich people do to keep face.

"Do you Lusubilo Avril Chansa daughter of Mulenga Chansa take John Zulu son of George Zulu to be your lawfully wedded husband. " The priest poses the same question at me

Well this is gonna be some kind of drama, but at the moment I don't care. Because I need to make a decision that's both best for me and my little sister Bukata Rose

" I do not," I finally answer and the whole crowd in the church gasps.
