AT THE SAME TIME
XAVIER'S POINT OF VIEW:
For a long moment, Michael and Terrence just stared at Wren, as if trying to figure out if she was bluffing, if there was any truth to what she was saying. But in the end, neither of them spoke. They both exchanged a brief, wordless glance, perhaps realizing that challenging Wren might not be the smartest move.
"This is a waste of time." Wren said coldly, her gaze sweeping back to Isabella. "You're not the one we need. And until you prove yourself, you're nothing more than a distraction."
Isabella stood there, eyes wide, her hands clutching at the remnants of her necklace, her lips parted as if to protest, but she said nothing. She had no room left for argument.
"I'm not here for games. I'm here to win. And if that means destroying the false pieces on the board, so be it. But don't get in my way."Wren said.
