AT THE SAME TIME
WANESSA'S POINT OF VIEW:
I wished the ground would swallow me whole. My face burned, my heart pounded, and I was fairly certain my wolf was howling inside me. The idea of marriage had never even crossed my mind, let alone marriage to Xavier. Xavier, who was currently standing so stiffly, he looked like he'd been struck by lightning. But the reactions from the others? Oh, they weren't helping.
"Married?" Terrence finally spoke, blinking in absolute shock. "As in, Xavier and Wanessa? Together? As in-?"
"Yes, Terrence, we understand how marriage works," Michael cut in, rolling his eyes, but there was a smirk on his face.
Xavier finally seemed to snap out of it. He turned sharply to the elder, his voice lower, more controlled, but still laced with disbelief.
"You're joking."Xavier said.
The elder gave him a deadpan look.
"Do I look like I'm joking, boy?"Elder asked, clearly annoyed.
