65. Rest and recharge

AT THE SAME TIME

WANESSA'S POINT OF VIEW:

The morning came too quickly, the light creeping in through the cracks in the cabin walls, pushing away the remnants of night. I can feel the sleep still weighing on me, my limbs heavy and stiff from the exhaustion that's finally caught up with us. But the warmth of the cabin and the crackling fire make it easier to stir. I open my eyes, squinting against the early light, the lingering fatigue still pulling at my senses. The others are slowly waking up, the low sounds of them shifting around the room filling the otherwise quiet space. I stretch, my muscles protesting, but the rest has done its job. My mind is clearer now, more focused.

Suddenly, the familiar, intrusive ping of the system echoes in my head.

"Warning: Nutritional levels low. Food required for optimal performance." System said.
