Shadows of Destiny

Kaelan ran through the ruins of the ancient city, chasing after the woman who looked exactly like Anya. The Quantum army—towering black entities with glowing red eyes—continued to destroy everything in their path. Explosions rocked the ground, sending dust and debris flying into the air.

In the distance, a massive crystal tower still stood tall in the center of the city, radiating a purple light that seemed to be the main energy source of this civilization.

The woman—whose face was eerily identical to Anya's—moved swiftly, glancing back occasionally to make sure Kaelan was still following her.

"Kaelan! We have to get to the tower! Only there will you find the answers you seek!" she shouted.

Kaelan wanted to ask countless questions, but this was not the time. He pushed forward, leaping over rubble and dodging attacks from the approaching Quantum soldiers.

As they neared the staircase leading to the tower, one of the Quantum creatures suddenly leaped down from a crumbling building and landed right in front of them.

BOOM!

The ground cracked beneath its massive weight.

The creature glared at them with glowing red eyes, letting out a guttural growl that echoed through the ruined city.

Kaelan drew his glowing dagger, ready for battle. But before he could move, the woman stepped forward and raised her hand.

A golden light shimmered from her palm.

Kaelan narrowed his eyes. That light…

It was the same as the power Anya possessed in the present.

The woman whispered something in an ancient language Kaelan didn't understand. Suddenly, glowing symbols appeared in the air around them.

The Quantum creature roared in pain. Its body began to crack, as if an unseen force was shattering it from within.

And within seconds—it disintegrated into dust.

Kaelan stared at her in shock. "How… did you do that?"

The woman turned to him, her eyes filled with confidence. "I'll explain everything inside. Come on!"

Without wasting any time, they rushed up the staircase toward the entrance of the crystal tower.

The Unveiled Secret

As soon as they stepped inside, Kaelan was stunned by the tower's interior.

The walls were covered in glowing symbols that seemed to move, flowing like rivers of energy. In the center of the main chamber stood a circular altar, above which hovered a massive crystal orb.

Inside the orb, Kaelan saw something that made his breath catch.

It was Mount Sambo… but not as he knew it.

The mountain glowed, surrounded by ancient structures that looked like towers. As if… the mountain had once been part of this city.

Kaelan turned to the woman. "I need answers now."

The woman exhaled. "Of course. I will explain everything."

She stepped into the center of the room, the crystal's light reflecting on her face.

"My name is not Anya. I am Nasha, the last guardian of this civilization."

Kaelan's eyes widened. "The last guardian?"

Nasha nodded. "What you see now is a civilization that has long been lost, a civilization once known as Aeterra. We were a people who mastered the pure energy of the universe. But one day… something came from beyond our dimension."

She gazed at the crystal orb, still displaying Mount Sambo. "They arrived as shadows, creeping into our reality, attempting to seize control of our power source. We called them… Quantum."

Kaelan clenched his fists. "So Quantum has existed since your time?"

"Yes," Nasha confirmed. "We fought them for centuries. But over time, they only grew stronger. Eventually, we realized our civilization would not survive."

Kaelan felt a deep sense of unease. "What did you do?"

Nasha looked down. "We sealed this city away."

She pointed at the crystal orb. "We redirected all our energy to create a separate dimension, a place where Quantum could never reach us. But it required a great sacrifice."

Kaelan's breath hitched. "What kind of sacrifice?"

Nasha's eyes filled with sorrow. "We had to erase this city's existence from history. We sacrificed ourselves to ensure that Quantum would never find this world again."

Kaelan struggled to process the information. "But… if you're still here, then how could this civilization have truly disappeared?"

Nasha gave him a small smile. "Because I was part of the final pact. I… was the only one sent into the future."

Kaelan stiffened. "The future?"

"Yes." Nasha stepped closer. "But I didn't go as myself. My soul… was reincarnated into someone new."

She placed a hand on Kaelan's shoulder.

"You know who I am now, don't you?"

Kaelan felt his entire body freeze.

"No… That's impossible…"

Nasha smiled. "Yes, Kaelan. I was reincarnated as Anya."

A Destiny Repeating Itself

The world felt like it was spinning around Kaelan.

If what Nasha said was true… it meant that Anya in the present was actually the last guardian of this ancient civilization.

But why didn't Anya remember anything?

Kaelan looked at Nasha with disbelief. "If you are Anya… then why doesn't she remember any of this?"

Nasha met his gaze. "Because the time seal we used to save this civilization also erased most of my memories. Only when the right moment arrives will those memories return."

Kaelan felt a terrible sense of dread creeping in. "And when is the right moment?"

Nasha took a deep breath.

"When the war begins again."

Kaelan tensed. "You mean… Quantum is going to attack again?"

Nasha nodded. "Yes. And this time, they don't just want to destroy the world… they want to take control of it entirely."

Kaelan clenched his fists. "Then… what do we do?"

Nasha gave him a determined look. "We must return. You need to bring this crystal to Anya. It is the key to unlocking her memories."

Kaelan turned his eyes to the floating crystal orb.

He knew that what would happen next would change everything.

But he had no other choice.

If he wanted to save this world…

He had to uncover the truth that had been buried in time.
