Chapter 3 Him.

Mabel is older than I with three years. Due to this little age difference, we became very close. Like a best friend to me. She knew clearly how I had never been in a relationship. I'm really a stunning girl but no matter how my previous schoolmates tried to date me I harshly turned them down. I really despise intimate relationships. Maybe when I get older I will date but definitely not now.

They will only leave you heart broken and sad. So it's best to avoid it.

After dinner I retired to my room only to see tons of messages from Jasmine and Desmond. They had also created a group chat for the three of us.

"What's up Ocean? Will you be able to hang out with us this weekend?". Came Desmond's message.

"There's going to be a party at my house. I have invited some of our classmates excluding Sandra and her minions".

"Please make time to attend".

"What day is it and time? Also your house address". I sent my reply and he responded with a smiley face emoji.

"On Saturday by 4pm. Don't bother about the address Jasmine and I will pick you up just text me your house address".

" Okay".

I sent him the address and the Jasmine's call came in.

" Pretty girl Desmond says his throwing a party at his house are you gonna attend?". Jasmine asked anxiously from the other end.

"Yeah I just texted him my address. He said you both will come get me".

" Oh is that so no problem then. I thought you may not be able to attend".

"What made you think so I will definitely be there besides it's been a while since I last partied". I was smiling as I spoke. Just then I heard someone calling Jasmine from the other end of the call.

"Mom I'm coming. Ocean good night see you at school tomorrow".

"Good night". With that the call got disconnected.

I lay on my bed recall all the unnecessary and annoying events that happened at my school. OMG it was so unnecessary.

I ended up dozing off only to wake up late the following morning.

"Mum, Dad good morning. I'm off to school " I said as I rushed past the dining area.

" Baby won't you eat before leaving? Mabel quickly pack some dishes for your sister so she could eat in the bus". My dad said to my sister and I.

"But dad I can't wait any longer besides I have my pocket money with me". I complained knowing full well that my doting father won't let me off the hook.

" Now take this and eat it once you get on the bus I don't want my darling looking malnourished". He said smiling and gently putting the brown paper bag in my hands.

"Daddy loves you have a nice day".

"I love you too dad, mum. Mabel see you!".

I hurried to the bustop. On getting there a bus arrived and as I tried getting on it, I and a tall guy collided.

"Sorry". We both said in unison. He then stepped back for me to get in first with him following behind me.

I immediately found a spot clos to the window and began munching on my breakfast. I was indeed really hungry all thanks to my dad I carried breakfast.

Soon the bus got to my school. I hoped down and briskly walked towards theain gate.

"Hey". Someone shouted from behind. I acted as though I heard nothing because obviously my name wasn't "Hey" and if whoseever that is calling me doesn't know my name that's their f*cking cup of tea.

"Ocean!" Instinctively I turned back upon hearing my name which I regretted immediately. It was the same guy from the bustop. I hadn't even taken notice that he was wearing my school's uniform.

"What is it?" I asked hostility clear in my voice. But immediately I said those words I wondered why I was harsh to him. I barely knew him." Or maybe it's because my period is close that's the reason for my sudden mood swings". I thought to myself.

"Um... Sorry but you dropped this earlier". He said handing me a neatly folded handkerchief . I immediately recognized it as it belongs to me.

"Thanks". I replied taking it out of his hands. I turned and headed for my class.

"Wait up. You are the new student right? I'm from the next class. The art department although we are class mates in a way it's just that we are in different departments". He kept on yapping none stop before he finally said

"I Daniel it's nice to have such a beauty in our school" He said trying to make me say a word since I haven't.

"It's nice meeting you". Were the only words I said before entering my class.

Sandra was already in class together with minions. She glared at me before turning her head towards her desk.

On the other side Jasmine and Desmond were seated next to each other the class was quite spacious with single chairs and desks. I calmly walked over to my seat and exchanged glances with them before resting my head on the desk.

The teacher was late.

Soon a pot bellied man in his early fifties casually strolled into the class as though he was an hour early.

He obviously looked lazy. The worst part of it all, he was our math tutor Mr. Andrew.

"Students bring out your textbooks we are dealing on logarithm today". My Andrew drawled.

His teaching was boring and it wasn't easy to remain focused but I knew I had to as I had always made daddy proud. Soon most of the students had dozed of.

"Now take your assignments. Yes that would be all for today. Ensure to submit them before 8am tomorrow." This was his way of giving punishment to those who weren't paying attention.

" And yes I almost forgot to inform you that this particular assignment carries twenty marks." Then he strolled out of the class. The student groaned in agony as the hadn't paid and form of attention to him all these while.

"Dude wake up. Mr. Andrew gave an assignment that carries twenty marks that is to be submitted before 8pm." A guy said tapping his friend.

"Oh dear lord what do we do right now"

" Please who understood what the old man taught today I'll need your assistance."

" Yes me too."

"Including me."

" Please also me."

It happened to be that more than half of the class was sleeping or either distracted. Meanwhile the rest didn't even understand much.

"I noticed Ocean was listening attentively and even has notes on the topic."

I turned sharply to see everyone looks at me with puppy eyes. Pleading with me to explain.

"Here I have a marker." Desmond who was obviously amongst the sleepy heads said handing me a marker.

"Just for today. Note that next time I won't help. It's not like I'm some kind of sweet soul." I said glaring at them as they lowered their heads.

I walked straight to the board to begin my teaching when Sandra and her escorts walked out forcefully swaying their hips making them look utterly ridiculous.

In less than thirty minutes I was done. The rest of the morning went by smoothly soon it was lunchtime. It seems like Daniel had been waiting for me at the cafeteria entrance because as soon as he saw me he walked towards me.

"Ocean, I wasn't expecting to see you here."

"Huh?" I was puzzled.

"Isn't this lunchtime and also the school's cafeteria where else should I be?"

"Umm... I... I..."

He began stuttering and I noticed his uneasiness.

"Whatever." I said head straight to the serving area.

I really dislike slow people. They act really dumb.

"Ocean over here." Jasmine waved at me signalling me to come over.

Just as I sat down Daniel came rushing over.

"Um can I sit with you guys?"

"Yeah, sure you can" Desmond said.

Desmond and Jasmine were sitting sose by side and I was opposite them. Obviously Daniel had to sit beside me. I noticed his hand trembled slightly as he put his tray down and sat next to me.

I shook my head inwardly. What is he shy of?
