Chapter 3

"Rosalie, what are you zoning out about?"

"I've called your name several times and you didn't answer! I'm about to get angry!"

Vienna was the epitome of a sweet girl in the traditional sense.

With big eyes and a small face, she wasn't very tall. Because of this, even when she got angry at you, you wouldn't feel offended.

There was already a hint of anger in her voice.

In the past, just hearing her voice would have made me imagine her cute expression, and I wouldn't have felt any resentment.

But things are different now.

Just hearing her voice makes my skin crawl.

"Um... it's my fault. What's up?" I paused for a moment before uttering that name I now loathe to the core.

"Vienna."

Hearing my response, her voice returned to its usual sweet tone.

"Rosalie, isn't your birthday in a couple of days? I'll definitely come to your birthday party! It's just..."

I knew what she was going to say. After all, this same scenario played out in my previous life.

"I know, you don't have suitable clothes, right?"

"Then let's go shopping tomorrow! Don't stand me up!"

"Alright! I knew you were the best, Rosalie!"

Having received the answer she wanted, Vienna hung up the phone immediately. The same conversation, occurring in different states of mind, can produce entirely different effects.

Never before had I sensed such obvious jealousy in her words.

I took a moment to compose myself. Thankfully, Mason was currently on a business trip abroad and wouldn't be able to return anytime soon, so this house was still livable for now.

Although nothing had happened yet in this lifetime, the mental exhaustion from being reborn was undeniable.

As soon as my head hit the pillow, sleep washed over me like a tidal wave.

A night passed without dreams, and once again, I was awakened by my phone's ringtone.

"Rosalie, are you up? Let's go shopping!"

"Okay."

Hearing the eagerness in Vienna's voice, a cold laugh escaped my throat.

Don't worry, I'll definitely give you a shopping experience like no other.
