The phone line fell silent for a moment. "Of course not, Scarlett..."
Hearing his denial, I immediately hung up.
I opened Twitter, hit send, then promptly removed my SIM card and tossed it in the trash.
Damien, left with a dead line, felt an inexplicable panic rising within him. He feared I might have discovered something.
"What's wrong, Damien?" Aria planted a gentle kiss on his cheek.
Damien remained silent, his face grim as he dialed my ex-fiancé's number.
"What the hell did you tell Scarlett? You really think I don't have dirt on you?"
A cold laugh echoed from the other end, followed by a voice seething with rage.
"Damien, Aria, if you dare to cheat behind my back, be prepared for the consequences."
"I didn't say anything to your ex-wife, but I wouldn't mind telling her now."
Damien was utterly confused. "What ex-wife?"
"Ah!" Aria, who had been looking at her phone, let out a piercing scream and looked up, her entire body trembling slightly.
