Chapter 1

Fintan's pure love has returned, but her mind was scrambled.

She thought Fintan is still dating her, and I'm their pet dog.

To help her recover, Fintan moved her into our newly renovated love nest, tending to her 24/7.

Even at our wedding, instead of slipping a diamond ring on my finger, he fastened a dog collar around my neck.

"What's the big deal about pretending to be a dog? We can always have another wedding, but Jolene's condition can't handle any shock!"

Fintan's overthinking it. The moment he let Jolene call me their pet, our wedding was off for good.

And I've got a big surprise in store for them!

————

I saw on the local news that Fintan's long-lost pure love, Jolene, had been found after years of being missing.

She was standing on the edge of a high-rise rooftop, looking disoriented and repeatedly shouting, "I want Fintan!"

Fintan quickly rushed to the scene.

This usually proud man fell to his knees without any dignity, tearfully begging Jolene not to jump.

But Jolene jumped anyway.

And Fintan, who was so afraid of heights that he wouldn't even ride the Ferris wheel with me, jumped after her without hesitation.

Though they landed on the firefighters' air cushion, he was still dazed from the impact.

Not only that, he still struggled to crawl to Jolene's side and held her tightly in his arms.

The news comments were all praising: "This man truly loves this woman."

I frantically called Fintan's cell phone, but no one ever answered.

I anxiously searched hospital after hospital.

By the time I reached the fifth hospital, I felt dizzy and collapsed on the ground.

My first instinct was to protect my belly, resulting in my hand being badly scraped and bleeding.

I had just found out this morning that I was carrying Fintan's baby, and hadn't even had the chance to tell him yet... Where on earth was he?

The medical staff was about to examine me when Fintan's personal ringtone suddenly blared.

I quickly answered the phone, hearing Fintan's uncompromising voice.

"Freesia, come to our bridal suite right now. Don't waste a single minute!"

Ignoring the protests of the medical staff, I immediately jumped off the hospital bed and dragged my still weak body towards our bridal suite.

As soon as I reached the doorway, I saw that our bridal suite, which we hadn't even moved into yet, was in complete disarray.

The custom-made door sign with our names "Fintan & Freesia" had been pried off and thrown on the floor.

Our wedding photos were tossed out, with several frames and stands shattered.

Meanwhile, Fintan was still furiously throwing things out.

The clay figurines of us that I had personally sculpted, the roses I had carefully cultivated...

"Fintan, what are you doing? Stop it, please!"

He shushed me irritably.

"Keep it down! Jolene is sleeping inside."

But Jolene had already come out, rubbing her sleepy eyes.

"Fintan, who are you talking to?"

She was wearing thick loungewear, but Fintan immediately took off his own coat and wrapped it around her.

"It's windy in the hallway, be careful not to catch a cold."

Shivering in the draft, even my polite greeting froze in my mouth.

Jolene saw me and suddenly screamed.

"Where did this dog come from? It looks so vicious! I'm scared!"

She frantically waved her hands, her fists repeatedly landing on me.

"This dog is going to bite me! Fintan, Fintan, save me!"

I was stunned by her blows, only managing to bend over and clutch my stomach.

"Jolene, calm down, don't hurt your hands... She's Potato, she's our Labrador, it's just Potato!"

Fintan hugged Jolene, tenderly rubbing her fingertips, and commanded me.

"Potato, bark right now!"

This was absurd. I'm a person, how could I pretend to be a dog?

Fintan leaned in and whispered:

"Jolene's gone mad. Why are you arguing with a lunatic?"

"If you don't bark and something happens to Jolene, I'll never forgive you!"

Fintan's expression told me he was serious.

I hesitated for a moment, then reluctantly opened my mouth.

"Woof."
