Chapter 24 Goals

The first rays of the morning sun rose, dissipating the light mist. The sunlight filtered through the window and into the room, causing Leo, who had been meditating with his eyes closed, to slowly open his eyes.

"Finally reached level 21 Soul Power. It's really not easy," Leo murmured in amazement as he felt the fluctuations of Soul Power within his body.

Who would've thought that cultivating his third Martial Soul would be this difficult? It was far more challenging than when he was cultivating his first and second Martial Souls. Even with the experience of being titled Evans, there was no way to quickly boost his Soul Power. He could only progress steadily.

Thankfully, the effort was worth it. At least the third Martial Soul was far more powerful than expected. Challenging opponents beyond his level was a regular thing. By now, even when facing Soul Ancestors, he didn't need to summon the soul beast of his second soul ring.

A good day starts with a good mood. Since his Soul Power had increased by one level, Leo cheerfully left the door with his little fox. The first thing he saw was Ryan sitting in meditation on the rooftop.

Seeing this, Leo was itching to ask. Was it because cultivating on the rooftop could double the effect or something? Or did it give one an illusion of being so high up that everything else seemed small, like looking down on all the mountains? Or was it some common quirk of time - travelers?

Why didn't he have this bad habit? After all, cultivating on the rooftop was easily interrupted.

"Ryan!" A mischievous smile played on Leo's lips. He gave a light leap and quietly approached Ryan. Then, he suddenly slapped Ryan on the shoulder.

Ryan was so startled that he almost rolled off the rooftop. He barely managed to control his Purple Demon Eyes, narrowly avoiding going berserk.

"Leo," Ryan said, finally regaining his composure. After seeing it was Leo, he replied with a lingering fear. His back was already soaked in cold sweat.

"What are you doing here?" Leo asked with a beaming smile, seemingly oblivious to Ryan's expression. "Enjoying the view?"

Upon hearing this, Ryan felt his blood boiling. What the hell, enjoying the view? You're the one enjoying the view! He was cultivating here, for god's sake. Thanks to Leo's interruption, all his efforts were in vain, and he almost suffered a backlash.

However, he couldn't say this. Since he was misunderstood, he could only swallow his grievances. He nodded and said, "Yeah, just got up to get some fresh air."

Seeing Ryan's憋屈 look, Leo was secretly laughing his ass off. But he knew he should stop the joke. "There's nothing to see here. Come on, let's go have breakfast. We have to gather later."

Ryan thought about it. There wasn't enough time to continue cultivating anyway. And it would take even more time to get back into a meditative state after being interrupted. So he nodded and got up.

Probably because they got up early, when they arrived at the cafeteria, it was just the two of them. When they were almost done eating, Blake walked in with a gloomy face.

The moment he saw Leo, Blake's mood was extremely complicated. Ryan, who knew what was going on, didn't say anything. After all, it was the kind of thing that no one wanted to get involved in.

After Blake entered, Xiaowu came in, then Aria, and finally Max.

Max had a great time last night and was full of energy. He was about to greet everyone when he noticed the strange atmosphere in the cafeteria and stopped short.

Both Boss Dai and Aria were sitting alone at a table, exuding an intimidating aura. And Leo, Ryan, and Xiaowu, although sitting together, were quietly having their breakfast without chatting. This made Max even more certain that something was wrong.

"Brother Wu, what's going on?" After getting his food, Max thought for a moment and finally sat down next to Leo. He then asked in a whisper.

"I don't know either. If you want to know, ask Ryan and Xiaowu. They were together last night," Leo said, shrugging his shoulders, indicating that he knew nothing.

Max thought this made sense. He turned to Ryan and asked, "Ryan, what's up with those two?"

Ryan didn't want to deal with this at first. But since Max asked, he was at a loss for words.

Fortunately, Xiaowu, seeing her Third Brother in a bind, came to the rescue. "Max, eat more and talk less." As she said this, she picked up a steamed bun and stuffed it into Max's mouth, blocking it.

"Ugh," Max's face turned red from this move. He was almost choked to death.

Seeing Xiaowu's action, Ryan couldn't help but laugh. But he still patted Max on the back to help him get the big steamed bun out.

"Xiaowu, what did I do to you? You want to choke me to death?" Max said, on the verge of crying.

"Who told you to talk so much," Xiaowu said, raising her eyebrows, looking rather pleased with herself.

Fine, you win. Fatty isn't going to argue with you. Max thought bitterly when he saw Xiaowu's annoying expression.

Before he could finish his silent cursing, he saw Xiaowu looking at Leo in a strange way, her eyes rolling around. He wondered what she was up to.

"Xiaowu, what's wrong?" Leo asked, confused by Xiaowu's expression. Was there something on his face?

"Brother Leo, I want to ask you something," Xiaowu said after thinking for a while.

Xiaowu's attitude towards Leo was completely different from that towards Max, which made Max even more annoyed. Was it because he was fat that he was easy to bully? Did fat people have no rights? This differential treatment was too much.

"Go ahead," Leo said with a smile.

Hearing Xiaowu's words, Ryan could more or less guess what she was going to ask. He sighed inwardly but didn't stop her.

"Brother Leo, are you married?" Xiaowu asked.

"Thud!" Max, who had been listening intently, accidentally fell to the ground when he heard this.

"Yeah, I am," Leo replied, nodding.

This answer made Max, who was just getting up from the ground, stumble and almost fall again.

"Fatty, do you have to react so strongly?" Xiaowu frowned, annoyed.

"Ah, no," Max quickly replied. Then he stared wide - eyed and asked, "Brother Wu, you're married? You have a wife?"

Max's words were loud enough for Blake and Aria, who were quietly having their meals, to hear.

"Is that so strange?" Leo rolled his eyes.

"No, no. Brother Wu, you're amazing," Max said, shaking his head and answering sheepishly.

Upon hearing this answer, Aria was slightly startled. Then she continued eating. Only Blake glanced in her direction, and then he too remained silent.

Xiaowu, however, was quite curious. "Brother Leo, isn't it too early for you to get married?"

Too early? Leo was speechless. If it weren't for considering his wife's situation, they might have had a few chubby babies by now.

After all, having a baby would take a toll on her body and affect her cultivation. That's why he was reluctant.

After all, in the Evans Continent, there was still the God Realm and the Gods above. As a time - traveler, his goals were far more than just this.
