The vampire mansion stood silent in the dead of night, its towering spires piercing the sky, its shadow stretching across the cursed land like an omen.
Then—
A knock.
Kikidori, lounging on the black velvet couch, barely lifted his gaze. Haruna, curled up beside him in an oversized sweater and thigh-highs, flicked her dark eyes toward the door. Coraline, their vampire cat, twitched her tail.
Kikidori exhaled through his nose. Another vampire.
Which meant trouble.
Slowly, he stood, gliding to the entrance, his pale fingers curling around the iron handle. He yanked the door open.
And there, standing on the porch with a grin far too casual for his own good, was Sirius.
A well-known, powerful vampire.
And an absolute idiot.
Sirius smirked, his sharp canines flashing. "Yo, Kikidori, my guy! How the hell is your wife that hot?"
Silence.
Kikidori's face did not move.
His gaze darkened.
Haruna, from inside, tilted her head, smirking.
Sirius, entirely unbothered by the wave of murderous intent rolling off Kikidori, leaned against the doorframe. "No, but seriously, like—is there a ritual? Some ancient vampire spell?"
Kikidori blinked once. Slowly.
Sirius was still talking.
"She got some succubus blood in her or what? 'Cause, damn, man, like—"
Kikidori tilted his head. Dangerous. Silent.
Sirius grinned wider. "She single?"
Silence.
Dead. Fucking. Silent.
Kikidori took a slow step back and—**against all expectations—**opened the door wider.
"Come in." His voice was low, cold.
Sirius blinked. "Wait, really? I was just messing with you, man—"
Kikidori did not repeat himself.
Sirius, smirking like an absolute dumbass, stepped inside. "Man, you're actually chill. Here I was thinking you'd be the possessive type."
The door swung shut.
And then—
A scream.
A sharp, bloodcurdling, soul-ripping scream.
It echoed through the mansion, rattling the windows, sending a shiver through the very walls.
Haruna, still lounging on the couch, sipped her drink.
Coraline stretched, yawning.
And then—silence.
The door never opened again.
Sirius never left.
And Kikidori?
He returned to the couch, brushing a speck of dust off his sleeve, his eyes cold, amused, and utterly unbothered.
Haruna smirked, curling closer to him. "What happened to your guest?"
Kikidori exhaled. "He won't be asking any more questions."
Haruna giggled. "Good."
The End of Chapter 24.
