In the business district I saw Bella outside the adventurers guild obviously waiting for me we hadn't spoken for about six months before this morning.

We walked to a small tea house and ordered the raspberry leaf tea which Bella paid for and I caught her up on my life.

She already knew about Callum's arm and drinking habits but she didn't know about the debt or us having to move to the lower district.

I didn't tell her everything but it was nice having someone to talk to about my issues.

Bella spoke.

"Leave that deadbeat and come live with me you know I can support us and you can save more by not having an extra mouth to feed"

I shook my head and spoke.

"You know I would have considered your offer a week ago when I found out about the debt but you how much I care for him plus even if he is...sad I don't want the boys to grow up without their father"

Bella sighed and spoke.

"Ack fine but you are a silver plate plenty of people would want to party with you why are you going solo?"

I replied.

"Because that feels wrong I might team up with some old friends but I am too old for a new party I can get 15 gold by doing a few solo quests a week then I can relax a bit doing one here and there"

Bella spoke up.

"HEY! why don't you join the group that's going wyvern hunting? It pays good money and wyverns live In pacts I'm sure that any party wouldn't say no to a experienced cleric!"

I was about to rebut her but it was actually pretty smart Mirid duchy is a single day walk and I have a little experience fighting wyverns I could probably pay the debt in a two day trip.

Bella spoke again.

"If you don't update me I will tell dad about you living in the lower district I can see him now ranting about how his precious noble blood is living a life below a commoner"

I actually could imagine him saying those exact words we finished up and made a plan for Monday and then I went to the adventurers guild.

When I entered I saw a man pick the quest and I walked over to him and spoke.

"Hey I know it's a bit weird of me but could I tag along? I am an experienced Cleric but I'm very strapped for cash I promise it wouldn't be a waste I only need 15 gold so only three wyverns out of a pack of up to 20"

The man looked me up and down then I noticed the plate he was wearing this dude was a platinum plate adventurer!

He thought for a moment then spoke.

"You know how to cast barrier and major heal?"

I nodded and he replied.

"Okay then sure we head out tomorrow morning 1 hour past dawn meet me at the north gate bring your own gear and camping equipment now come register with me"

We walked over and registered and I asked him for his name.

"Hey since we are in a temporary party may I know your name? I'm Juliet"

He replied.

"The guild calls me Blade don't be late I will leave without you"

he left and I went home it was pretty late and the kids were eating... well they were eating something Callum never could cook.

Callum was in bed under the blanket I sighed and cleaned everything up when the boys had finished eating and put them to bed telling them I would be away for a few days.

"I am going to be going away for a couple days I know it's scary but I promise I'm coming back okay?"

Jaime asked a question.

"But what if dad forgets to feed us again?"

I spoke.

"Don't worry he will remember but if something bad happens or he does forget, go to the adventurers guild and ask for Bella aunty Bella will help you okay?"

They both nodded I packed everything ready to go to Mirid to hunt some wyverns and then get changed into my night gown.

As I got into bed Callum asked a question out of nowhere.

"Can we have sex tonight?"

I was taken aback and spoke.

"No I need to be up early tomorrow I'm going to do a quest in Mirid where is this coming from?"

He grumbled and spoke

"We haven't done it for two years now why can't we?"

I chuckled and spoke.

"Oh yeah? You haven't for two years I haven't for three"

I took a breathe and spoke calmly.

"As for why let's see why we haven't had sex you went off for a year and cheated on me three times so I didn't want to be touched by you

Then you got injured and I had to tend to your injuries to keep you alive not your dick.

Then you were sad and drunk all the time we finally managed to get you off the bottle and you were still mopey you told me about the debt and here we are"

He spoke.

"When will we again?"

I replied.

"When you actually want to have sex with me not just to feel better but because we love each other"

He spoke.

"Okay can we hold hands instead?"

I layed down and grabbed his hand then spoke.

"Yes my love we can"

He spoke.

"I'm sorry"

I replied.

"I know"

I went to sleep and woke up just before dawn got ready kissed Julio and Jamie on the head then spoke to the lump in the bed.

"I should be back in three or four days take care of the boys while I'm gone and take at least 1 bath also if you desperately need help go to the guild I'm sure Bella will at least help the boys.

...I love you"

He replied.

"Yeah"

I walked to the gate where Blade was and without a word we left for Mirid since the city is on the outskirts of the county of Penshire and we bordered Mirid it would only take a day to reach the nest.

I forgot how out of shape I was but I kept up with Blade that way I didn't become a burden to him.

We were travelling on a main road so there weren't any monsters so far but it was getting dark so we made camp as soon as we reached Mirid.

I set up a warding zone and my tent and ate some bread and jam for dinner then got ready to go to sleep.

Tonight is the first night away from Julio and Jamie since they were born and I am filled with worry but I know that settling a debt is more important that a few days apart.
