Volume 2. Chapter 2. Quiet days. Part 1.

After Canoe's birthday, autumn came, and after it, the school days of the 1st year of high school began. The acting head of the student council, Kai Hisoko, spoke at the opening line. She talked about the planned events for this year, that all students should behave appropriately, about security measures, and also said that starting this year, the powers of the head will be transferred to the vice–head, Miku Hisoko. After that, all the students went to their classes to get acquainted with the new staff. Canoe and Hirata, just like in high school, fell into the first parallel, and Mari into the second, but what made Canoe more surprising was that he and Hirata were in the same parallel with Miku. During class, Mika was appointed class leader, although she wanted to refuse, but the teacher and most of the students insisted.

- Canoe, what are your plans? Hirata asked.

- Let's pick up Marie and come to my place. Canoe replied with a smile.

"I knew you'd say that." Hirata replied with a smile, lightly nudging Canoe's shoulder. – Still, you're not like two different people.

- The same as with you. Canoe replied with a slight smile.

After going down to the ground floor, Kanoe and Hirata waited for Mari. When Marie arrived, the friends went to the Canoe home. On the way, they noticed San and Amy coming out of the grocery store.

- Mom! Dad! Marie shouted.

- Daughter! Hi, Hirata, hi! San said as he and Amy approached the guys.

"Hello, Aunt Amy, Uncle San," Canoe said warmly, shaking San's hand.

-hello! Hirata also said hello.

- Are you visiting the Canoe? Amy asked.

- Yeah! Marie replied with a smile.

- Well done, kids. Amy said with a malicious smile.

"Well, Mom,– Marie drawled.

"Well, well, it's okay. – San replied to this. - Okay, we'll go.

- Yes, we still need to cook dinner. Amy said.

"Very well. Marie replied.

"Are you staying the night?" Amy asked.

- No! Marie replied with embarrassment.

"Oh, you used to stay by the Canoe a lot. Amy said with a smile.

"Mom, we're not that age anymore. Marie objected.

"Amy, don't embarrass our daughter. – San said. - Let's go.

- Yes, it's fine. – Amy replied. - I'll see you guys later.

"Okay, Mom,– Marie replied.

"See you soon, Uncle San, Aunt Amy,– Canoe replied.

- Goodbye! Hirata replied.

When they got home to the Canoe, the friends decided to do their homework first and then play games. An hour after the boys started doing their homework, Han and Manhiro came home, they greeted the boys, and then went up to the second floor to Manhiro's office.

- Now you can play. Canoe said when he was done with his classes.

- Oh, and I still need time. Marie replied.

"I don't have much left either. Manhiro replied.

"Well, then Hirata will finish it himself, and I'll help Mari." Canoe said.

Sitting closer to Marie, Canoe began to look at her assignments and help with their completion. Hirata smiled at them, and Mari, who saw how close the Canoe was sitting to her, was a little embarrassed. After completing their tasks, the friends sat down to play a game console. At first, Canoe played against Hirata, and after defeating him, he played with Mari and won. After that, Mari and Hirata played against each other.

"You're too strong!" Marie said in a long, sad voice.

- Let me help you a little. Canoe said, sitting down behind Marie. – Look, this button is responsible for normal attacks, this one for camera movement, and these buttons are needed for special attacks that deal combo damage.

- It's going to be difficult right now. Hirata said.

- Yeah! Marie said happily. – And I just pushed everything.

Starting a new duel, Mari and Hirata played almost on equal terms, but Mari lost again. This time, Canoe put his hands on Marie's hands and thus played with her. Thanks to this, Marie was able to win.

"Hooray!– she exclaimed joyfully.

"Good girl. Canoe said, stroking her head.

- These are the lovebirds. Hirata said, looking at them. "Kiss me again."

"The fool. Mari said with a smile, pushing Hirata's shoulder.

"You know Marie is like a sister to me. Canoe replied to his friend with a slight smile.

- To be honest, I consider her my sister myself, just like you are my brother. Hirata replied.

Canoe said, walking up to Hirata and patting him on the head.

After that, the friends played for a while longer, and then went home. Towards nightfall, Canoe went outside, where he met Khan.

"Good night, young master." Khan said.

"Good night to you too, Uncle Khan." Canoe replied with a smile. – Is Dad still with the documents?

- Yes, this is probably his favorite activity before going to bed. Khan replied.

- Listen, Uncle Khan, is it okay if I go for a bike ride now? Canoe asked.

"If only with someone." – Khan replied. - You never know what can happen.

- Yes, I understand. Canoe said with a sigh. – Maybe you'll take a ride with me?

- Hmm. – said Khan thoughtfully. – Now I'll warn Mr. Manhiro and let's go.

- OK. Canoe replied. "I'll change my clothes for now."

When Canoe changed his clothes and went outside, Han was already waiting for him.

- Well, what did Dad say? Canoe asked.

"He asked me to take a gun with me just in case.

- Which is to be expected. Canoe said with a slight grin.

After that, Canoe got on the bike, and Khan sat behind him. Canoe put on his helmet and handed another one to Khan. Traveling through the city at night caused a very pleasant feeling for both Canoe and Khan. Sometimes the canoe picked up high speed, and sometimes it went very slowly. The rush of adrenaline made the Canoe accelerate, but common sense told it to slow down. So they drove a few laps around the city, and then stopped near the riverbank, where they decided to catch their breath.

- What do you think, Uncle Khan? Canoe asked, sitting down on the shore.

"Well, that's pretty good. Khan replied, sitting down next to him.

"Uncle Han,– Canoe began with suspicious seriousness.

"What is it, young master?" Khan asked in surprise.

- How does it feel? Canoe asked.

"What is it?" Khan was surprised again, looking at the Canoe.

- Killing someone. Canoe replied, looking somewhere far into the sky.

"What are you talking about, young master?" Khan asked seriously.

- Dad once told me that you and he used to do this a lot to protect people close to you, and I wonder how you felt at that moment. Canoe replied, continuing to stare into the distance.

- Well, I can't say exactly how I feel at such moments. Khan began, realizing the mood of the Canoe. – To be honest, because of the number of people I killed, I stopped feeling anything. The first time I was scared, then I realized that if I didn't kill this man, he might kill me or someone I care about. This is not exactly an act that can be called noble or right, but there are situations when there is no other way.

"Oh," Canoe said thoughtfully.

"Yes..." the Khan replied.

"Uncle Khan," Canoe began seriously again, looking at Khan.

"What is it, young master?" Han asked, looking at Canoe's face.

- I want to ask you something! Canoe said with all his seriousness.

"No,– Khan replied with a smile.

"But I haven't said anything yet." Canoe was surprised.

- I've already guessed the topic of the conversation. "It's not as easy as it sounds, and at your age, young master, you shouldn't even think about it."

- But still! Canoe said confidently. "If it's not you, Uncle Han, then who else can tell me all about it?" Dad refused right away, and Uncle San is too kind, and besides, you promised to teach me everything you know yourself!

- How do you know about this promise? Khan was surprised.

- Mom told me. Canoe replied softly.

"Young master, let's return to this request a little later. Khan replied with a sigh.

- That is, yes? Canoe asked with joy in his eyes.

- Yes, but not now. Han replied with another sigh. – And now let's go home, you have to get up early tomorrow.

- Good! Canoe replied with a spark in his eyes.
