Chapter 34: Xiao Gong: "Xiaoying, Your Father Is So Bad!"

"Then I'll punish you with a bottle of dango milk."

Su Ran handed a bottle of dango milk to Kujo Sara.

Is this a punishment?

Looking at the unopened dango milk in her hand, Kujo Sara was confused. She wanted to ask again, but by the time she considered speaking, the others had already walked far away. It seemed they had no intention of wasting time with her.

"Am I... disliked?" she wondered.

Maybe the adults had other things to do? She looked at the dango milk in her hand, still unsure. Perhaps there was a deeper meaning to their actions? Could it be that they simply wanted her to try the drink?

Kujo Sara sighed and put the bottle away. She was about to return to the castle tower when she suddenly stopped.

She had just come back from the front lines to report news to the gods. Wasn't the god she had just seen in front of her? Although it wasn't General Raiden, this god seemed to have the authority to manage Inazuma.

Should she go back and find that god, or should she return to the castle tower to speak with the general?

After a moment of thought, Kujo Sara chose to visit General Raiden. After all, her loyalty was with the general.

Once she was completely out of Kujo Sara's sight, Xiao Gong let out a sigh of relief.

She had been terrified just now. How could her luck be so bad? She had run into Kujo Sara of all people.

But now that the immediate danger had passed, her thoughts shifted.

The situation was still uncertain. After all, even someone like Kujo Sara respectfully called Su Ran "sir." That meant Su Ran's identity might not be as simple as just a young master from a prominent family. Who exactly was he? A family head? Or perhaps someone newly appointed by the general?

Xiao Gong's thoughts were all over the place. She couldn't help but feel uneasy.

"What's going on? The weather isn't hot, why are you sweating?" Su Ran asked as he noticed her condition.

He took out a handkerchief and wiped the sweat from Xiao Gong's face.

His gesture was incredibly gentle, but it only made her sweat more.

Shenli Linghua watched Xiao Gong in her panicked state and couldn't help but laugh. It was clear now that Su Ran had found someone else to tease besides herself.

"Lord Su Ran, please don't do this... I'm scared..." Xiao Gong stammered, swallowing nervously. At this moment, she even considered the possibility of her own demise.

If anyone found out about her disobedience to the Eye Hunting Order or her helping wanted individuals in secret, her end would not be pretty.

And now Su Ran was wiping her sweat, making her feel even more nervous.

"Why would you be scared? Do I look that frightening?" Su Ran smiled slightly, his charm undeniable.

After evolving into a higher form of life, his presence exuded an allure that surpassed that of ordinary people. While he might not cause love at first sight, it was impossible for most people to feel hatred or fear toward him. Even Xiao Gong, already on edge, couldn't help but lower her gaze, unable to meet his eyes.

At that moment, Xiao Gong began to understand why Linghua liked him so much. In terms of appearance, he was truly impeccable.

Su Ran raised her chin gently, forcing her to look at him directly.

"Answer me, Xiao Gong," he urged. "Do I look scary?"

Xiao Gong: ...

She wasn't scared before, but now, his actions made her feel uneasy.

"Not scary! Not scary at all!" she quickly blurted out.

She was truly a "Sakura girl." She knew when to submit.

"Hahaha, you're really something," Su Ran laughed, letting go of her chin.

Xiao Gong scratched her head, clearly confused by everything that had just happened. She looked at Shenli Linghua helplessly, hoping that her good sister and friend might help her out.

Surely she wouldn't just watch her get into trouble, would she?

"Obviously, Lord Su Ran enjoys teasing you," Shenli Linghua teased, feeling a sense of relief. She was no longer the only one being bullied.

Though she was a little disappointed, a strange sense of balance washed over her—after all, Xiao Gong had something of hers that she didn't quite like being taken.

"Bullying?" Xiao Gong asked quietly, eyeing Su Ran.

"Yes, it was amusing to see Sister Xiao Gong, who usually appears so confident, act like a scared kitten." Su Ran winked. "It was just a little prank. I wasn't trying to harm you."

"Brother Su Ran, you have such bad taste!" Xiao Gong crossed her arms and looked at him with mock indignation, confirming that he didn't mean any harm. She relaxed, but still couldn't resist teasing him. No one had ever bullied her like this before.

"Well, when I thought about how cute you looked when scared, I really couldn't resist," Su Ran admitted, his hands up in a gesture of helplessness.

"Oh~ Don't call me Sister Xiao Gong! We're about the same age!" Xiao Gong grumbled, even more annoyed now, especially as Su Ran teased her.

As she punched him lightly in the chest, Shenli Linghua could only watch with a resigned smile.

Lord Su Ran had previously said that he was her pursuer, hadn't he? And didn't he also say that he only bullied her?

"Okay, Lord Su Ran didn't mean any harm. Just forgive him, Xiao Gong," Shenli Linghua quickly intervened to mediate.

But Xiao Gong gave her a look as if to say, "Look at him—how could this not be intentional? Isn't it obvious he meant to tease me?"

"Xiaoying, tell me, do you think your father is bad?" Xiao Gong turned to Lei Dianying for support.

Lei Dianying: Do you know who this man is?

Lei Dianying: Oh… you don't, and you can't.

Lei Dianying looked up at Su Ran with big, innocent eyes and said, "Su Ran… bad!"

"Hehe… I knew Xiaoying would be on my side," Xiao Gong smiled, feeling reassured.
