Selling the fruits

Coco spent the next seven days planting and taking care of her fruits. Lulu seem to notice her plan of using Lala because s he received another scroll saying that she needs to do everything by hand so she ended up eating the fruits, but spit out the seeds since she has no other way of getting seeds.

Lulu gave her another scroll explaining what she was doing wasn't illegal nor an error in their system which gave her enough confidence to continue her process.

Lala also made her worry. The garden fairy came back crying and terrified out of her wings, saying that a human saw her. She didn't let her fly away under ten metres from her since then. So far, it's going well for her— she found out that she can just punch a hole in the ground because she's very strong.

The fairy mentioned something about the population in her new world of both genders being in declined, but since they're both clueless, they weren't sure if it was true or a scam. She can't have herself living in the end of the world, right?

"Phew! I'll just harvest these, then we can go to the village and earn our first money!" She was excited to finally finish her first main quest. The reward is promising and the skills she can unlock sounds cool too. It's what drove her to work day and night on her field, just to have her crops grow healthy and nutritious.

It only took her seven days to grow her fruits. It was quite confusing because how could a tree grow that fast in a span of seven days? Lala also has no clue regarding the matter so they didn't pry any further. Coco's just happy that it wouldn't take her half a year to finish her first quest.

She started harvesting the oranges. She grabbed the tree trunk of the orange tree and shook the tree roughly. Lala sprinkled some pixie dust on the fruit so they wouldn't fall on the ground once Coco started to shake the tree. Instead, they'll stay floating in the air.

"Nice! Good job, Lala!" The fairy also grew sucker for praises so she'll do anything to hear Coco say something good about her.

Coco took the oranges and rubbed off the pixie dust to her tattered, dirty, and soiled clothes. She doesn't care if she ends up dirtying the peels. As long as she can sell them to the vendors then what's the problem?

She hummed happily to herself as the two of them harvested the fruits. Ripe, juicy, and red strawberries.. Bright oranges.. Long and yellow bananas. All her fruits are delicious, juicy, ripe, and nutritious! Such luxury is hard to obtain in this world so the vendors better be fair when buying!

"Come on, Lala! Let's sell these babies to the market!" And get this body's memory back! Coco giggled to herself as the fairy laughed enthusiastically, perching herself on top of Coco's head.

Once they reached the entrance of the village, the people nearby turned to look at her in shock. The baskets she was carrying were perched snuggly on her arms and were quite big, that's probably why they were staring is what she thought.

She approached a fruit stand. The vendor looked at her with incredulous look in his eyes then to the basket of fruits she was carrying then to her face. The man repeated this a few times before he stopped and scowled at her.

"You have the nerve to show your face here and come back with those fruits! What? Are you flaunting them now? Your husbands had been waiting for you at home while you're just busy hustling those goods from someone else?! The nerve of you, girl!" The vendor's outburst caught the others' attention around them, he expected Coco to lash out at him and steal something from him like the usual, but the woman only tilted her head and smiled. Oh, the nerve!

"I have no idea what you're talking about, but I grew these fruits deep in the forest. I would appreciate it if you'll buy these with a fair price, if not, I'll just go to another shop." Coco doesn't give a crap about his outburst, she just needs to sell the fruits to finish the main quest!

The vendor's scowl only deepened, but he looked back at the fruit basket. The oranges, strawberries, and bananas are shining with how ripe and fresh they look, egging his desire to buy them.

".. Fine! Give those here!" He was about to snatch the basket from her, but she was quick to pull it from his range.

"No. Pay first, sir." She smiled at him and shook the basket in front of him to taunt him further.

"Grr..!" The man had no choice, but to give her a bag of money. In return, she gave him the fruit basket and snatched the bag before staring at the money inside with triumph. She wondered how much money is inside the bag, if she finds out that she got tricked by the vendor, she'll hunt him down.

"We made money, Coco!" Lala squealed and hugged her hand. Lala's red eyes were staring at the money with excitement which made Coco giggle.

The familiar notification of a scroll echoed in her mind, just in sync with someone unfamiliar calling her name.

"Coco!" Ding!

The smile on her face vanished when her eyes landed on the man with ethereal face. His red eyes wide in both relief and shock, he opened his mouth to say something, but the scroll opened up before her eyes and caught her attention.

Zaque, the man who called out to her, grabbed her by the arms and shook her. He was saying something, but she couldn't hear anything. Her head started throbbing causing her to wince, the memories of Coco Hughes in that world are now flooding her brain like a database receiving files.

The last thing she saw was Lala's crying face, grasping her nose to keep her from passing out, but her effort was futile because the darkness consumed her consciousness completely.
