Telling the truth

"So you're telling me.. That you're not the same Coco Hughes that we married, but instead another soul whose name is Coco as well?"

Coco nodded her head fervently. She decided to tell them the truth instead of pretending that she knows them when in fact, she could care less about them. Her bad reputation is bad enough as is, she doesn't want to be labeled as a drunkard who play dumb just to get away from her responsibilities.

She just wants to go back to planting her fruits, grow them into another tasty batch, turn those fruits into a delicious snack and enjoy her time in that new world!

There is a hopeful look in her eyes, wishing to convinced them with the best of her ability. However, she flinched in her seat when the second husband slammed his fists on the wooden dining table, startling her and making her jump out of her skin.

"You're probably still high with alcohol, aren't you?!" Heiren growled with anger. He doesn't like the fact that his wife is mocking him and pretending that she's someone else! Her story doesn't make sense! At! All!

She disappeared for two weeks after beating up the third husband and now she's telling them that she's not the Coco Hughes they know?! What a load of bull!

"Hey! She's telling the truth! I was the one who killed her!" Lala, the sweet garden fairy, wanted to defend her friend, but it was futile because they could only hear a bell chiming whenever she spoke. It was confusing for Zaque because he swore on his life that he heard her so clearly before and even understood her.

It was really confusing yet fascinating.

"I swear I have no recollection of you guys. Though, I can remember some things from the old Coco, but it's vague! I don't even feel anything for you guys except for guilt. I was so useless and trashy that I'm so tempted to kill myself right now honestly." Coco said solemnly.

As if to prove her statement true, she picked up the fork on the table. The people in front of her gasped when she tried to stab herself in the neck, but Heiren was quick to grip her wrist to stop her.

"J-Just what are you doing?!" The brown haired male managed to squeeze out. He was so taken aback that he felt he was about to have a heart attack from her action.

Just how could a drunkard like her be so reckless and kill herself?! She still has debt to pay! He can't let her die! Not in his watch!

"I'm telling the truth! Look, I don't want to be like the previous Coco so I'm going to repay all my debts, fix this house of yours, move out then divorce you all! I'll pay for the divorce fee so just give me time, I'm going to do my best to hurry." Coco assured them with a smile, pumping her closed fists in the air.

Lala squealed in happiness at what she declared and hugged her transmigrated human. She felt so proud to be the fairy to accompany her in her journey in this new dimension.

"Can we trust these words of yours?" Zaque asked, his beautiful red eyes squinting into a warning stare with his lips upholding the same signature angelic smile he always has.

"But Zaque!—" Heiren tried to interrupt them, only to be turned down by a single glance by the older male.

"Woah.. The power dynamic between the spouse's must have been scary.." Coco whispered to herself when she noticed the exchange between them.

The power between the two is obviously far from the other. Zaque is the first husband so he got most of the power when it comes to Coco Hughes's spouses.

Huffing, she slammed her hand on the table to get the attention of the two,"Anyways! Yes! You can trust me! I'll even have a contract ready by next month, how does that sound? I earn money for you guys then give back the dowries whatever that is, help fix the house, start my fruit stand, and divorce!"

Although, she looked enthusiastic as she list the things she needs to do, she still nodded her head to assure them, "There's so much to do, but no worries! I'll do it!"

"Hm.. Okay." Zaque agreed after a momentarily pause. Why would be pass the chance to get the house fixed and divorce the drunkard? There's no way he'll Coco get away with her debt still unpaid.

His response made Heiren to look at him with shock, eyes wide in disbelief while Coco looked at him with excitement.

"Is that final?" Coco asked, "No take backs? No take backs, okay?! You can't take your word back!" She slowly stood up from her seat and backed to the front door, "I'll come back tomorrow to give money!"

"Coco, someone's behi—" Lala tried to stop her friend, but it was a little late.

Coco couldn't even touch the doorknob before she stopped dead in her tracks. She instinctively grew stiff when her back collided with someone's chest.

"Eek!" She let out a shriek, jumping away from whoever she bumped into, scrambling away from him, her heart beating anxiously inside her chest as she stared at Alhai with wide eyes.

"You're back." His silver hair bounced to match his movements, his dark turquoise eyes barely glancing at her direction before ascending the stairs. There was a loud 'clack' that resonated in the air indicating that he went to his room.

"Phew." She let out a sigh of relief. She may be acting too extra, but she didn't want to inflict more trauma and damage to her supposedly spouses. She physically deflated and fell into her knees, she didn't like the fact that she's on guard inside this house.

"You're so dramatic." Heiren scoffed and rolled his eyes at her.

"I'm just being careful, okay? Leave me be." She retorted back and glared at him before she turned to Zaque who has been keeping his eyes on her since earlier, "Can you tell me everything about this world? I can't do anything without any knowledge so please enlighten me."

Instead of walking out of the door like she planned, she decided to ask her supposedly spouses about the things she needs to learn about in this new world.

I mean.. The system already told me the basics, but it wouldn't hurt me to gather more information, right?
