The next morning, after having breakfast, Ren and Lilith set out to explore the city, their guards keeping a healthy distance between them to give a pretence for privacy.

Even if they wanted to disobey the orders and stay closer to their charges, Lilith's glare was enough to send anyone running for the hills.

They moved through the streets of Steadfast, rubbing shoulders with the people around them.

There were the merchants hawking their wares, the travelers with their packs and dirt stained attires, and of course, the nobles weaving through the crowds with an air of self-importance.

Here in the outer city streets, there was no divide between the people using its roads. Everyone mingled, and the city around them felt alive.

Lilith was visibly excited, her eyes darting from stall to stall, taking in everything at once. Ren found himself chuckling at her enthusiasm. "You act like you've never been to a market before."
