The grand ballroom of the royal palace shimmered under the glow of hundreds of enchanted lanterns, their soft golden light spilling across the gleaming floors.

The air was filled with the scent of fresh flowers, perfumes, and hiding beneath it all like a thief was the faint traces of fine wine.

The King's Ball had officially begun, marking the start of the tournament festivities, and the hall was already filled with nobles dressed in their finest silks and coats, engaged in conversation, dancing, and quiet scheming.

The herald at the entrance stepped forward as Ren and Lilith approached.

"Announcing Lady Lilith Underwood of House Underwood and Lord Terence Ross of House Ross."

Heads turned, and whispers spread throughout the ballroom. It seems like Lilith was infamous among the nobles.
