The Calm Before the Storm

The duo of highly prejudiced races kept walking through the forest, 1 hour and a half had passed and it seemed like Eizit had been immersed in his thoughts for a while now. Azael had recently noticed and, intrigued, he decided to ask him.

"Hey, is everything alright?"

But Eizit did not reply, he was too focused thinking, lost in his own thoughts. Azael decided to dismiss it, and they kept walking.

However, after 5 minutes passed and Eizit did not reply, Azael started to get impatient. If he was so damn deep in his own mind, there could be a chance he was worried about something.

"Eizit, are. You. Okay?"

Eizit did not reply, he just kept walking, silently, without speaking... Simply walking. His footsteps swift, agile, but stealthy. He practically didn't leave a mark on the ground, following his footsteps would be impossible.

Azael was different, he walked fast and steadily, but his footsteps were easy to see, the guy who aspired to be an assassin (class) was not quite there.

Azael was losing his patience already, and so he yelled at Eizit now

"Eizit, what the fuck!?"

Eizit snapped out of his thoughts, looking over at Azael with a confused expression. Azael's face talked by itself, his eyes almost burning out of rage, frowning, his teeth grinning, his fists clenched. Eizit gulped.

"Dude, chill. What's wrong?"

"What do you mean what's wrong!? I've been trying to talk with you for the last ten minutes!"

Eizit looked away, scratching the back of his neck... It was something he did often when he felt embarassed.

"Okay, okay... I'm sorry, I was thinking. That's it. Tell me, what did you want?"

Azael took a deep breath, and kept walking, but now faster, surpassing Eizit as he started walking in front of him, clearly still angry. Then he exhaled the air, and answered him.

"I know you were thinking, and that's the matter. Why were you so focused, what were you thinking on?"

Eizit looked around, and kept walking, trying to dismiss the question he replied with just...

"Nothing, it was nothing."

Azael looked back at him, his face even further frowning.

"I'm pretty sure it isn't 'nothing', and I'm afraid it could be something concerning for not only you, but for me too."

Eizit giggled, this tiefling was a bit selfish, and also stubborn, but that is a story for another paragraph.

"What are you laughing at?"

"At nothing."

Azael cracked his nuckles "I am..." Then he stretched his neck "...gonna..." Then he stretched his arms "...fucking..." Then he stared menacingly at Eizit "...kill yo-"

"Got the message! You can AND should stop right there" He cleared his throat "it's just that my race is not really welcomed by the wood-elves. You know, dark elves are like the corrupted version of the elves."

Azael sighed, and kept walking forward, not even looking back at Eizit to see if he followed him. After all it turned out he was just thinking whether or not people would accept him... Azael said to himself:

"This guy is a pussy"

Eizit sped up his walking, trying to get next to Azael.

"It's just that I wonder elves would hand over a deer to a dark elf... But they surely hand it over to you, so there's no problem. I'll just walk."

"What if I ask for two deers myself?"

"I mean, if they hand them over without asking..."

"It's just that making you go on feet would just delay both of us"

There he is, Azael being stubborn. Did you think he did it for kindness? No! Of course not. Azael is a stubborn person, he'll go after the option that works in a more positive way for him. Though maybe he is using a excuse now, and he actually felt bad for Eizit... Who knows.

"Fine, then, that's the plan. You'll ask for two deers and hopefully they don't mind handing them over to a tiefling"

Azael sighed, the slight ironic tone in Eizit's words was obvious, and he was true. The prejudices towards tieflings were there, after all, it was actually based on a solid reason. That was that most tieflings were actually evil, it's a fact that they're half demon half human.

Plus, they're a work of the devil! That's at least what the Holy Church would say.

"You know, you may be stubborn and selfish but you're good for a tiefling"

Azael raised an eyebrow

"Stubborn and selfish?"

He giggled, it was right, but it was also true that he was better than other tieflings. He spoke back at Eizit.

"And you may be stupid and a masochist but you're way kinder than dark elves"

Eizit slapped his back softly.

"Hey! That my star makes me combust is not my fault, it's random!"

Azael shrugged

"Well, skill issue... Mine fits my theme"

He said sticking out his tongue

"Yeah, yeah. Keep walking clown"

Azael laughed and turned back to the front, slowing down to walk next to Eizit, after all they were companions now, and probably also friends already.

Again, with some laughs the duo kept walking, being closer to finding a house one. However, someone got closer and closer to them every minute, and they did not know at all.

Meanwhile, Navi kept getting closer and closer to them, he followed them fast, the day he killed Eizit it was raining, and the ground in the forest was muddy. This meant that Azael's footsteps were easy to track. Along the way he almost lost them twice, mainly when their footsteps got mixed up with those of horses. He even thought they may had got one, but their footsteps remained to be normal after.

Well, Azael's footsteps, because Eizit's were never visible. This made Navi wonder if they may have separated, went to different places, perhaps discussed in the way and split up...

However, he remembered how his boss was an elf, and despite Eizit being a dark-elf, they were similar. His boss used to levitate, but the times he actually walked he didn't leave footsteps. He wasn't sure if that was because he was powerful, but now he linked it with Eizit's lack of footsteps and, therefore, got to the conclusion that it was just that elves didn't leave them.

"Goddamit, it's been so long since we departed, probably around 3 pm already... I'm hungry, did I bring food...?"

The horse neighed.

"You're not food, I need you to get them."

The horse seemed relieved.

"Just keep galloping"

If the horse could, the horse would have probably said "y-yes!". Because it started to speed up slightly. Not too fast though, as if he had did, Navi would have complained.

"Let's see..."

He mumbled to himself as he started to search for food in his back. Navi wore pretty little clothes. A Berserker armor of sorts that left most of his jacked torso exposed. He's not that dumb though, so the armor actually has a leather strap diagonally placed from his shoulder to his hip, covering over his heart. The leather is reinforced so it could take a hit or two just fine.

Regarding his pants, they are made of leather with armor plates over the sides.

With iron protecting his little friend.

The only way he had to carry food and items was inside his bag, a leather bag that he carried on his bag. He took it off and started searching on it.

"Timmy the Ripper... no."

"A water canteen, useful, but not right now."

"A rope, no. Wait..."

He mumbled as he took something out of the bag, it was a tiny doll that resembled him.

"How cute, I'll have to thank Dahlia for the little surprise gift!"

Navi pocketed the doll back and closed the bag, there wasn't any food in there.

"It sucks to not have food, though..."

As he was going to shrug it off, he noticed a bag on the horse. As he opened it he saw the same medal the old man had, which he had put in there but had forgotten and some bread! It was food. He first put on the medal, which was in the shape of a necklace. Then, he started eating the bread as he kept chasing them.

(30 minutes later)

In the distance, Navi could now see Eizit and Azael, far away, but in his line of sight. He was almost there.

"Oh~ I got you two this time... Anything but going back to District 9."

Eizit and Azael were clueless, they couldn't hear the horse sounds yet...
