The Void is Merciless

Back in the Kingdom of Chamuel, a man with a suit looked over to what seemed to be a man on his fifties. The older man wore a simple straw hat, with some average adventurer clothes that you could find all over Spiegel. A simple leather armor.
Void-man spoke first, asking the humble man a question.
"Is the safe-zone prepared?"
"Yep, the safe-zone is up and runnin' without a hitch, sir."
Void-man simply nodded, and then looked behind him, waiting for Navi to respawn right where they where.
"The only thing you have to do is touch him as he respawns, is easy, so don't mess up"
The old man, who spoke like if he was from the rural world, nodded.
"It ain't nothin', I ain't gonna mess it up."
A couple seconds later, Navi respawned. He looked around scared and he rapidly opened his UI to see his new star. He better know it before he's killed.
Right as he did, however, the rural man touched him, and then, Void-Man step forward.
Navi pushed the old man away and faced at Void-Man
"I'm sorry s-sir, I won't fail you again!"
Void-Man shook his head in disapproval.
"You've failed me twice, there's not such thing as a third chance. Now, as you know too much you're just an useless weight full of important data... And so, you must die."
Navi looked at his star power, and remembered that Eizit told him to fight back. He knew pretty well that Void-Man was way stronger than him, but there was only one way to survive.
"Then there's only one chance for me to survive!"
Navi charged at Void-Man and attempted to punch at him. Void-Man simply parried his punch. He did it by tapping his arm with the back of his hand, activating his levitation. This made Navi suddenly lift his arm up, missing the punch.
Then, Void-Man used the opening to counter attack, rapidly moving forward as he took out a dagger, attempting to cut Navi's throat.
"I can see it!"
Navi yelled, grabbing Void-Man's wrist just before the dagger reached his neck. And so, he proceeded to twist it.
Void-Man grinned his teeth at the pain, and said something.
"Wake up."
Navi felt the dagger cut his neck from behind.
"An illusion..."
Navi died.
...
"Henry, teleport us to the safe zone."
And so both Void-Man and Henry suddenly teleported away from the Kingdom.

[Starting Life 3]

Navi opened his eyes, he was in some sort of farm. Henry and Void-Man were right there waiting for him. Navi gulped. Void-Man stared at him and spoke.
"You said there was a chance you survived, you've always been too optimistic."
Navi opened his UI again, hoping that this time he got a star that could make him survive... However, he actually asked himself whether he could or not. "If improved senses wasn't enough to survive, is there any way I can really beat him?"
As he saw the star, his eyes shined for a second, that could work! However, he didn't have time to be happy, as Void-Man was already charging at him with his dagger.
Navi attempted going for a kick, and Void-Man jumped to dodge it.
So Navi used that he was mid air to punch him.
Sadly, Void-Man just levitated to a side, attempting to stab the dagger on Navi's shoulder as a counter-attack.
Navi's body suddenly transformed into that of a snake, and so managed to dodge the dagger. Then, Navi coiled up on Void-Man's leg, and bit it! Something was off... His fangs didn't sink.
"An illusion!"
He exclaimed. Indeed, he had bitten on a wooden fence. Void-Man suddenly attacked him from behind, attempting to stab him on the head.
However, Navi transformed into a mouse, dodging the dagger. Then, he made some distance. Void-Man sighed.
"Enough play-time."
He suddenly closed distance and attempted stabbing him again. Navi dodged and started going up the fence. Then, Void-Man touched the fence and it suddenly disappeared, transforming into black mist.
Navi started falling down to the ground as the fence behind his tiny mouse feet disappeared. Void-Man used the opportunity to stab him mid-air.
Despite Navi's attempts to switch animals and therefore dodge it, he couldn't do it in time, and got stabbed.
Navi died.

[4th Life]
...
Navi got a cold shiver down his spine, opened his UI, and glanced over his star.
"Fuck"
Void-Man raised an eyebrow.
"Inability to age..." Said Navi.
Void-Man sighed.
"Actual Immortality is not a star effect."
Navi didn't fight back this time around, and he got stabbed.
Navi died.

[5th Life]
...
Navi sighed, opened his UI, and looked at the star. He was getting tired of fighting, this wasn't working out!
Navi sighed once again, another useless star.
"Wallcrawling..."
Void-Man left a soft laugh, and stabbed him in the head.
Navi died.
...
[6th Life]
...
Navi opened his eyes again, in the same spot as the previous times. He sighed and looked at Void-Man as he opened his UI, asking him something.
"What would happen if I theoretically escaped? The more you kill me, the stronger I become."
Void-Man replied almost instantly, he had everything thought, at least that's what it looked like.
"You wouldn't get so far, and even if you did... It's not that death gives you more power, it's that deaths allow you to achieve a higher power."
Navi sighed, and charged at Void-Man.
"Confident you seem, this time."
Navi punched at him, but Void-Man simply dodged to a side. Navi noticed a big rock about 10 meters to the north, behind Void-Man, and got a plan.
He kept punching Void-Man, making his attacks in a way that he'd be forced to go back.
Then, as Void-Man took one more step and got right in front of the rock, but giving his back to it, Navi disappeared. On his place was the big rock, and where the big rock was was now Navi. He had switched places. Void-Man tapped his own chest, disappearing as he transformed into a black mist. Navi's punch phased through.
Navi looked around confused. Suddenly, a dagger cut his neck from behind. He had lowered his guard.
Navi died.

[7th Life]
...
Navi opened his eyes, checked his star, and charged at Void-Man.
"I swear that this time I'll make it!"
He first started with a kick. And Void-Man simply parried it away. Navi kept on with a punch, but Void-Man grabbed his wrist from the side and stopped it.
Navi's wrist suddenly started to heat up, forcing Void-Man from dropping it. However, instead, Navi's energy seemed to be absorbed, and the heat soon enough disappeared.
"Good try"
A dagger cut his neck.
Navi died.

[8th Life]
...
Navi opened his eyes, looked at his UI and sighed.
Void-Man was touching his own chest, a faint light glowing from his hand. After a couple seconds, Void-Man took a deep breath. He seemed to have gotten ridden of all the fatigue from fighting Navi non-stop. He spoke.
"What is it this time?"
Navi smiled.
"Find out"
Void-Man replied
"No, I don't want to."
A dagger approached him, but Navi dodged it. Then, he attacked Void-Man again.
No, he didn't.
His neck was bleeding.
Void-Man wasn't holding a dagger, he was holding a sword now.
Navi died.

[9th Life]
...
Navi opened his eyes abruptly this time, breathing heavily, he was tired of fighting, he needed to win. But what could he do!?
Almost about to lose his patience, he got a memory from before, some words that Eizit had told him.
"And if he's too strong, you can always hunt him where he won't."
That was it! Navi got an idea, he looked at his star first though, as to sell the idea that he's gonna fight off one last time. For his last life. His star allowed him to throw Acid, it could have been a valid card... Only if he had got it earlier...
It didn't matter!
He had been all this time repeating himself that everything would be better than going back to District 9, however, he had finally realised... There was something worse.
"I'd rather be in District 9 than die! LOG OFF!"
Void-Man waved at him, he smiled under the mask, and Navi could tell. Which made a sweat drop fall down his forehead... Was this not a good idea?
[Logging Off Spiegel...]
"Why'd ya let 'im go, sir?"
"Because out there, he's no better than trash."
