Boom!
A flash of lightning lit up the sky, as the black ship cut through the fierce whirlpool beneath the storm and thunder, sailing straight through the gateway.
Just as Renetia had said, the ship she built was designed to navigate safely through waves and storms.
Entering the turbulent Ocean Current, the Death Star Ship swayed, but its course remained remarkably steady as it passed through the gateway, moving upstream against the current, charging forward through the wind and rain.
The higher they went, the more intense the surrounding air currents became, whipping Sage's white hair and causing his cloak to flutter wildly.
Until the Death Star Ship burst through the current, propelled upward by the immense force, leaping over the peak and entering a brief moment of weightlessness.
"Woohoo!"
Renetia spread her small hands, letting the torrential rain drench her, her face lighting up with excitement: "Flying high!"
Although she was a power user, this level of soaking had no effect on her; as long as her body didn't sink too deep into the water, she was fine.
"Is that the Grand Line below us?"
Lily looked down, spotting five Ocean Currents below; four were flowing upstream, while only one flowed downward. Entering that Ocean Current would lead them into the Grand Line.
"Ah, the legendary route! They say if you sail around the Grand Line once, you've completed a journey of the world," Marika smiled.
"The world is vast; the Grand Line is just one route. How could that complete a journey of the world? But this route is indeed significant; I wonder how many islands there are," Sage replied.
This sea was too enormous; some islands were unbelievably large.
But that was not something to ponder over right now.
Sage pointed in the direction the Death Star Ship was heading and said, "Reti, turn around; otherwise, we'll end up in the West Sea."
Sailing straight out from the East Sea's Ocean Current wouldn't lead them to the Grand Line. Most ships would get caught in the relentless currents and crash into the continent, getting destroyed, while a small portion would be swept into the four seas' channels, then impacted by the upstream Ocean Current against the Red Line, leading to their destruction.
Only a tiny fraction would be lucky enough to drop from the peak and head toward the four seas.
As for the Grand Line, that was the smallest part.
The infamous Pirate Graveyard had its first challenge right here.
If it were a normal ship, even if it were sturdy, following their current course would only lead them to the West Sea. But with Renetia, it was different.
"Okay!"
Renetia opened her small hands, and as she pressed down on the deck, a spark of Electric Flowers flickered, shouting, "Power brake!"
The massive Black Ship, soaring through the air, miraculously changed direction, flying toward the only downward current.
"That should be enough!" Renetia grinned, showing her little tiger teeth.
As the Black Ship descended, Lily was fixated on a rising Ocean Current, saying, "Sage, something's not right."
Boom!
Another thunderclap echoed, illuminating the dark night sky shrouded by the storm, casting a shadow over their deck.
In an instant, the three women's pupils constricted, staring intently at a spot diagonally above them.
On the deck, the pirates tightened their ropes, their eyes bulging in shock as they shouted, "Ship! Ship!!"
Above them, a battered ship, only slightly smaller than the Death Star Ship, suddenly appeared in the sky, seemingly about to crash down.
Lily instinctively drew Bai Lei, Marika trembled with both hands, and Renetia widened her beautiful eyes, quickly pulling out a tool hammer and transforming it into a long hammer.
But it was too late; if such a massive ship crashed down, it would immediately send their ship flying. If it hit the continent near the Ocean Current's confluence, it would be utterly doomed.
Boom! Just then, the ship that was about to crash suddenly erupted with a loud bang, a hole blasted into its hull, and with a surge of force, it veered off its trajectory, crashing violently against the rocky land, breaking into several pieces and sinking into the Ocean Current.
Sage retracted his hand, and at that moment, the Death Star Ship also descended into the Ocean Current, sailing downward.
"Captain!"
"Indeed, it's Captain!"
"Captain is invincible!"
The pirates couldn't see much, but they knew their Captain had made a move! "Is that the power of Haki?"
Marika laughed, "How convenient, Captain."
"If you're envious, take some time away from studying cooking and train properly," Sage glanced at the three of them and said, "The Grand Line isn't that simple."
Among the three, Lily worked the hardest, Renetia was still young, but surprisingly, Marika had the highest potential.
This woman had mastered Life Return; her physical and mental strength was formidable. It was a pity she didn't care much for improving her strength; otherwise, she would be the most capable of accessing Haki.
What Sage had just used was Haki, specifically External Release. Although the ship was still far from them, it didn't matter; the impact of Haki could push it away.
But it was a bit regrettable. He looked at his hand, "External Release and Internal Destruction still can't be combined at a distance."
He could use Internal Destruction, but only in close combat. To mix Internal Destruction with External Release was still lacking.
Otherwise, it wouldn't have just blasted a hole; he could have shattered the entire ship.
In fact, if it were a normal person, jumping up and throwing a punch would be the way to go. If one mastered Internal Destruction, with enough strength and Haki, a single punch could destroy such a ship.
But if he could remain still, why move? After all, his Haki didn't need to rest; this level of exertion wouldn't even take a breath to recover.
Whoosh! The wind roared on the deck, and the rushing Ocean Current carried the Black Ship swiftly forward. When they reached the bottom, it surged ahead, plunging into the water, creating a massive splash, mixing with the wind and rain, and disappearing together.
In the sky ahead, a ray of sunlight broke through, dispelling the dark clouds and shining down on the Death Star Ship.
Daylight had arrived.
And the Death Star Ship was, surprisingly, clear of clouds.
"Grand Line!"
Renetia cheered, then turned to look at the massive land, saying, "So Red Line really is very red!"
This enormous rock wall stretching across the sky was entirely pink, different from the colors of other islands.
"Otherwise, how could it be called the 'Red Earth Continent'? Don't mind the details; let's find a map of the Grand Line first. Lily, pick a direction; we're setting sail," Sage instructed.
"We can't go anywhere, Sage."
Lily was staring at the compass, saying, "The compass seems to be broken."
The compass in her hand was essential for navigators, similar to a compass, using magnetism to determine direction. But as soon as they entered the Grand Line, the needle was spinning wildly, making it impossible to find their way.
At that moment, Sage's expression changed, and he froze.
He realized he didn't know if there was a map of the Grand Line.
But this cursed place rendered compasses useless!
"It's not broken; it's just useless."
Sage shook his head, "Lily, from now on, forget about the compass. That thing is completely useless. The magnetic field of this cursed route is completely chaotic. To navigate, we need a Log Pointer; didn't we grab one in Log Town?"
"What's that?" Lily asked, taken aback.
The others also looked puzzled.
The Grand Line was a legendary route for the East Sea, known as the Pirate's Graveyard, and some referred to it as Paradise.
But how to navigate it was something Sage's group didn't know.
It seemed the East Sea had never encountered a Log Pointer either. "Don't worry; I have a plan."
Sage extended his palm toward them, looking at the positions on either side of the route, where there were two lighthouses, one of which had a building.
"If there's a building, there must be people. Since we're at the entrance of the Grand Line, they should know something. Let's go find them!"
Some people couldn't remember clearly, but he still had an impression of those two lighthouses.
This place seemed to be Twin Cape.
