World Overview

Core Terms
Shards: Crystals of power that fall from the Rift. When bonded, they grant unique abilities to their wielder, based on the individual's psyche and willpower. Shards are categorized into tiers:
Common: Basic powers, typically elemental or physical.
Rare: Advanced abilities with greater destructive potential.
Legendary: Extremely rare Shards that grant powers capable of reshaping the battlefield.
Corrupted: Shards tainted by Abyssal energy, granting immense power but often at the cost of the wielder's humanity.
Awakened: Humans who bond with Shards. Their powers are diverse, ranging from manipulation of the elements to summoning weapons or creating illusions. Awakened are ranked by strength:
Fledgling: Newly bonded, still learning to control their powers.
Adept: Skilled in their abilities, often hired as mercenaries or enforcers.
Elite: Masters of their powers, capable of taking on Abyssals single-handedly.
Ascended: Legendary figures whose powers defy logic, often leading factions or ruling territories.
Abyssals: Monstrous entities that emerge from the Rift. They vary in size and strength, from small but deadly creatures to towering colossi. Abyssals are drawn to Shards, as consuming them increases their power.
The Eclipse Order: A secretive organization believed to manipulate Shards and the Rift for their own ends. Whispers of their involvement in the Rift's creation circulate among conspiracy theorists, but no concrete evidence exists—yet.

Power Systems
Shards influence both the body and mind of their wielder. The more powerful the Shard, the greater the toll on the user. Overusing a Shard can result in Overload, a condition where the wielder loses control of their powers, often with catastrophic results.
Each Shard's abilities are tied to a concept or emotion, making the bond between Shard and wielder deeply personal. For example:
