Many things have changed, in the thousands of years of Stillera's history. Wars waged, countries razed, prosperity and destitution walking hand in hand throughout the centuries. But one thing that has remained a constant, are the Rifts.
They harbor within them unfathomable horror, creatures that have flooded into the world of Stillera time and again. However, for the first time in a long time, Stillera seems to have reached an uneasy equilibrium with the terrors of the Rift, people with abilities that rival the monstrosities seeking to destroy them rising up to defend their home.
But, in an unremarkable forest, in an unmarked lab, a creature has been born. Grown from the dark flesh of the Rift. And all it knows is hunger.
After all, as those in Stillera have come to know...
The Abyss has a tendency to stare back.
Shameless author 5 star review here. I’m very good at patting myself on the back, but hear me out! The beginning of this story starts out completely different to where it will be going. The prose will get better I promise! X1’s brain gets progressively more developed. If you want more of a preview of what the story quality will look like, chapter 7 is the first look into the world outside of X1’s perception. Second, I love my characters. Each one is unique and full of love, life, spite and attitude. There’s a unique charm to a lot of them, though a few of them might grind your gears. And third… I really love my story. And if you give it a chance, I think you might too.
