Prologue: A Wish for Power
Shion sat quietly on the edge of a grassy hill, staring out at the vast, endless horizon. The evening breeze brushed against his face, but it did little to comfort the emptiness he felt inside.
He had always known he was just an ordinary human—weak, fragile, and insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Yet, the vastness of the world only deepened his sense of helplessness.
"What am I even doing here?" he muttered to himself. "In a world this big, I'm nothing more than a speck of dust."
He had always dreamed of being stronger. Not just stronger than the average person, but the strongest. Strong enough to shape his own destiny, to stand tall against anything the universe could throw at him. But those were just fantasies. Reality was far less forgiving.
As he gazed up at the stars, lost in thought, a faint glow appeared in the corner of his vision. It started small, like a flickering candlelight, but quickly grew brighter. He turned his head, his eyes widening as he saw a strange blue box floating before him.
"What... what is this?" he whispered, his voice trembling.
The glowing box pulsed softly, and words began to appear on its surface:
"Do you desire power?"
Shion froze. His heart pounded in his chest as he read the question over and over again. Was this real? Or was his mind playing tricks on him?
"Power..." he repeated, his voice barely above a whisper.
He clenched his fists. The weight of his weakness, the years of feeling inadequate, all came crashing down on him. This was it—a chance to change everything.
Without hesitation, he muttered, "Yes. I want it."
The box flared brightly, its light enveloping him completely. Shion felt a surge of energy unlike anything he had ever experienced. His body trembled, his vision blurred, and a sharp pain coursed through him.
Then, just as suddenly as it had appeared, the box disappeared, leaving behind only silence. Shion collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
When he awoke, it was already night. The stars above twinkled as if nothing had happened, but he knew deep down that something had changed. He felt it in his very being—a newfound strength, a potential waiting to be unleashed.
Little did he know, this was just the beginning of a journey that would take him across countless worlds, challenge his humanity, and push him to the very limits of existence.
