Chapter 7: Struggle for Survival

The faint moonlight seeped through the shattered windows of the abandoned building, casting eerie shadows over the group huddled around Zayn. Tension filled the air as everyone knew that survival was becoming more difficult than they had expected.

"So, what's the plan now?" asked Liam, a young man with brown hair and anxious eyes, staring at Zayn for answers.

Zayn sighed and closed his system window. "We need to head to the supply warehouse in the neighboring district, but there's a problem... The number of zombies in that area is much higher than we anticipated."

The black-haired girl with crimson eyes lowered her gaze slightly, considering his words. Then she spoke firmly, "If we don't move now, we might lose our chance. Our current supplies won't last long, and we need more resources."

Everyone knew she was right. Gathering their courage, they armed themselves with makeshift weapons and cautiously stepped into the darkened streets.

Clash with the Dead

The group moved silently through narrow alleys, avoiding fights whenever possible. But it wasn't long before a rough growl echoed from a nearby corner. Emerging from the shadows was a hulking zombie with stiff, muscular limbs and glowing red eyes. It was different from the regular ones—faster, more vicious.

"Shit! An evolved zombie!" one of the group members shouted, gripping his weapon with trembling hands.

Before the creature could strike, Zayn dashed forward, using his Enhanced Speed to appear behind it in an instant. He swung his sword toward its head, but the zombie blocked the attack with its hardened claws, sending Zayn skidding backward with immense force.

"This thing isn't normal…!" Zayn muttered through gritted teeth.

At that moment, a system notification flashed before him:

[Warning! B-Class Entity Detected. Proceed with Caution.]

Zayn's kind expression flickered with worry, but suddenly, a cold smile crept onto his lips. His entire demeanor shifted as his blue eyes darkened slightly, and a low chuckle escaped his throat.

"My turn..."

With a voice colder than before, Zayn's sinister side took over, ready for the battle ahead.
