Amid heavy breaths and sweat dripping down his forehead, Zayn stood in the heart of the battle, struggling to catch his breath as he surveyed the scattered corpses around him. The warehouse was dark, except for the faint glow of the lifeless eyes of the zombies still crawling toward him. He gripped his weapon tightly, but deep inside, something else was stirring—his other voice, the side of him he couldn't fully control.
"You're wasting time, Zayn. We could end this quickly if you let me out."
"Shut up." Zayn clenched his blade tighter, trying to ignore the growing temptation whispering in his mind. But he knew it wouldn't last.
Internal Struggle
As he fought, the black-haired, red-eyed girl noticed the hesitation in his eyes. Fighting wasn't the issue—it was what was happening inside him. She approached after slicing off the last zombie's head and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Zayn, are you okay?"
He lifted his head slowly, his eyes glowing faintly blue for a moment before returning to normal. He nodded silently, but he couldn't fool her.
"You're trying to suppress him, aren't you?"
Zayn took a deep breath and said in a low voice, "I'm fine... Just don't move away from me."
Breaking Point
Before they could talk any further, the ground trembled violently. A massive horde of zombies emerged from one of the side corridors. Among them was a different creature—a mutated zombie with a grotesque body and enhanced muscles. It let out a terrifying roar before charging at them.
Zayn prepared for battle, but this time, he couldn't stop the voice inside from screaming:
"Let me handle this, you fool! We'll die if you don't!"
In an instant, Zayn's body began to tremble, his eyes glowing an intense blue. It was the unmistakable sign—his darker self was about to take over.
Will Zayn be able to regain control, or will his other personality dominate this time?
