The hero was standing on top of a tall building in the city, but no one was watching him or knew or cared how he felt this time when both his friend and his beloved woman died.
"My life was all for Andrea, and I risked everything for her, but in the end, she hurt me so badly that no medicine can cure me, nor can any doctor. Why does it come to me this way? Where did I go wrong? Terrible!
My beloved woman Andrea, how could she do this?
As I was holding the knife in my hand, I thought, I'm going to finish this story of my life, and this is the end. As tears fall from my eyes as I am standing on a fifteenth-story rooftop, I am a useless hero and nothing at all.
I was deemed the most powerful hero, and everyone loves me, yet under this mask only Andrea knows me better. Well, that was, I think, before.
I was famous throughout the country and even internationally. I'm like Superman with super strength; I can fly and create powerful blasts of beams from my hands, and no villain can escape from my grasp.
I save everything and everyone. I wouldn't care if it's a dog or any pet as long as it needs saving; even nature needs my help. If you remember those wildfires in the forest, I took care of it and made it stop. I would not care if they were young or old as long as someone was harassing others rights.
Those villains were afraid of me the most, even the most powerful of them, who called himself Krunos, and he became my mortal enemy.
He used to say he was immortal and that none could defeat him or kill him, but then later I found out his weakness.
We did always have a fight every time we met and saw each other since I was the hero and he was a villain.
This Krunos always survives every time we fight after taking severe injury from me, and I thought it was over, yet again he shows up once more only to be defeated by me. What kind of monster was he? He can grow his muscles in any part of his body, which makes his body become bigger, and aside from that, he can also produce tentacles from his body as many as he wants. Truly a monster in a human form.
Those tentacles are dangerous since they're made not only to defend but to attack as well. They are sharp and can slash me in two if I make a careless mistake during this fight. Thanks for my strength that made me able to rip them off, and yet I can't do it by just ripping it since Krunos can grow more tentacles.
It was hard to hit the real body since he covered it with those annoying tentacles. But then I think the tranquilizers that Andrea gave me would work if injected into tentacles since it was part of his body; I was afraid he would cut his own tentacles if he found out. I already destroyed the lab that made those medicines and tried to manipulate monsters.
But I'm not sure this is going to work, but I have to trust Andrea. Then I used my powers and created my beams to burst through the monster's tentacles and destroyed half of it, and it's enough to gain an opening revealing the body of Krunos. I used my speed and held Kruno's arm and injected the tranquilizer into it. I watched as Kruno's tentacles subsided, and he was weakened. The drug was effective, I guess, so I prepared to land a final blow to kill Krunos.
I was shocked as I made that blow as it landed on Andreas' chest. Is this why she told me not to kill Krunos? I watched Andrea as she vomited blood, and I held her in my arms, but she pushed me aside and crawled towards Krunos
I shouted her name, but she did not dare to look back at me behind. She did not even bother why I got those drugs. Who gave it to me? Why do I know her name? I manage to keep my secret from her even today. I think the time was finally right to tell her I'm the hero that everyone desires.
Andrea stopped me from speaking as she opened her lips and told me not to kill Krunos once again. This time she is begging me while dying and grasping for her last breath.
I told her I'm sorry because I cannot do her last wish as a surge of anger runs through my veins. I punch and punch Kruno's body until it is turned into bits, and then for my final blow, I decide to finally land it on his head, but as I look at his face as his mask is removed due to my series of punches, it makes me stop. I don't know if I'm going to laugh or cry as Anthony, my long-lost friend, was revealed right in front of me.
Is this worth it? What does it take to become a hero? As if this world is mocking me, who is just a self-confessed, most powerful hero. I know it's not worth it. I wish I had not become a hero.
I killed my beloved woman, who does not love me. I killed my friend too. What kind of hero am I?
I look at the city. People are just doing their usual jobs like they don't need me anymore.
I'm still suffering from this endless pain. The drunkenness of a year did not help at all. Right now, I have a better option to end this pain.
"Look! Look!" One of the busy people on the busy streets notices someone has fallen from the tall building.
"Is he the hero?" asked another.
"It's the Hero! It's the Hero!" shouted everyone.
People gathered around the hero, not daring to put his mask off. They were just looking at him puzzled.
"Why?" Everyone mutters in awe.
"We're doomed; our hero is dead." Someone can't help but say those words out loud.
"Heavens! Our hero is now dead!" Another one yelled it out.
"It looks like he committed suicide," an old man said.
"What?" Everybody got a surprised expression.
The hero heard everything as his soul departed from his body. He saw the people around him once more, but now it's on his dead body.
"Pain!" His soul muttered.
"Why are you still there? Why are you not dead yet? I wish I couldn't feel pain."
"Hero!" A voice was calling out.
"Huh!" He felt bewildered
As the hero turned to look where the voice was coming from, he saw a large and tall door about a kilometer in height. It's a width of about 600 meters.
He went inside that large door as it automatically opened.
"Funny man, you killed yourself," the voice said.
The hero looks around but sees nothing and no one. He only saw white all around him.
"Who are you? Where am I?" The hero asks as he tries to figure out the place where he belongs right now. He was still holding his heart where he just stabbed it with his knife.
"Oh boy, you truly committed suicide!"
Another voice came as if coming from a kid.
"Answer me, who are you?" The hero becomes bold as he was irritated since no one was answering his question.
"Know your place, lowly human!" The voice came, which was accompanied by a strong pressure that made the hero's soul fall.
"I have kept your wishes already, hero, and made them true for you, but this place is not suitable for a suicidal like you."
"Yeah, all three of them," a female voice seconded.
"Just tell me who the hell you are!" shouted the hero as he was falling.
No one replied, and it stayed silent for too long. The hero no longer felt any pain, so he wondered what wishes of his were being fulfilled.
"They fulfill that wish," the hero thought to himself.
"Since that is the case, we'll, it's good too."
After some time, he finally saw land where he was going to fall. It's full of fire and magma all around.
Crags!
"OuCH! that hurts!" Yelled Null but was stunned because he can't fell anything when he was drop to the ground.
The hero looked around the surroundings but saw nothing around him, just flames. He felt so hot, like his body couldn't resist at all, and then he got consumed by the fire.
"Ahhhh!" he shouted as he saw his soul burning, yet he felt no pain.
"I'm not dead?" He was shocked to see and experience burning, but nothing happened to him.
"I can dwell in this place."
The hero traveled through the flames, trying to look for someone.
After a long time of walking through the flames, the hero found a cave, so he went in and decided to rest.
He tried to lie down on the ground to take a nap, but then a puppy came barking at him.
He tried to ignore it, but it won't stop barking.
So he tried throwing some stones at the puppy, but he can't hit it. Just then, it suddenly grabbed his foot by the mouth and dragged him out of the cave.
"What kind of monster are you?" The hero said, which made the little puppy furious and throw him into the lake of fire.
"Noooo! I just want to rest!" Hero explained.
The little puppy then transformed. It grew bigger and turned into a three-headed wolf.
"Monster!" The hero was terrified for the first time in his ghost life.
"How dare you compare me with those ants!" said the three-headed wolf.
The hero was more terrified as he heard the wolf speak a word that made him fall unconscious.
"Eh!" The three-headed wolf was shocked as well.
Meanwhile, the demon king Zebub was already notified of a hero fallen into the Netherworld.
"This brat is interesting, but he doesn't belong here. Go and tell Pluto to lead him to the gate of the Mirror of Life and Death,"
Zebub, the demon king, ordered his men.
"Wait!" The demon lord Lucid told so.
"He is a hero who committed suicide and went to the heaven's Table of the Gods before sending him here. I think the Gods are up to something. Maybe we should take advantage of him as well. Bring him to my palace."
The moment the hero woke up, he was bewildered seeing himself in a magnificent palace adorned with precious ruby crystals, and it seemed like the whole palace was made of ruby since it's all red.
After that, a red light shines in front of him, making him startled a bit.
Then the hero was terrified as a strong demon appeared before him. Just the pressure expanding from the demon's body is enough to tell him how strong this demon is.
"How interesting!" the demon lord Lucid exclaimed.
"Who are you?" asks the hero.
"You should be honored; it is I who will send you off to the gate of the Mirror of Life and Death this time and not that wolf, but before that I have a gift," said the demon lord Lucid.
Lucid then pointed his finger at the hero's forehead, but the hero felt nothing, just touching his head with that clutchy finger.
"What was that? Did you give me the mark of the beast?" The hero asks.
"It's nothing but a parting gift. You will realize it when the time comes since war is imminent. We have no time. Let us depart now and go all the way to that gate to make you live again," explained Lucid.
Then a red light enveloped the hero's body together with the demon lord, and then they were gone.
"Sandara, it's up to you now since I can't come in your place. Let him live as the heavens will. I have to say bye now," then Lucid waved goodbye to the hero.
The hero was left at the huge door, but it was much smaller than the previous one. It opened, then he heard a female voice say,
"Come in."
He went inside the door and saw a large mirror in front of him.
"Come and step into the mirror," the voice said.
