Chapter 1

Recently, cases of domestic violence leading to death have been occurring frequently. I discovered that my newlywed husband is the creator of wife-killing tutorials online.

Yet in daily life, he's such a nice guy, always eager to help the neighbors, and extremely gentle with me.

While I was wondering if someone was pulling a tasteless prank,

His ex-girlfriend's best friend contacted me, "Run! Your husband is an abuser. Get out now!"

I smiled. What a coincidence. He's exactly the type I was looking for.

I married Holt in a whirlwind romance. I needed a supportive partner, and he needed my financial backing.

So we hit it off immediately, each getting what we wanted.

My expectations of him weren't high - just don't cheat during our marriage and live an honest, straightforward life.

Without an emotional foundation, I wasn't interested in his phone.

I wouldn't invade his privacy, and similarly, my phone held many secrets - a minefield he couldn't step into.

Until a message popped up on his phone screen,

"Your tutorial was great. Following your instructions, I had my mom kill my darling, then wrote a letter of understanding myself. My mom will be sentenced to a few years and we'll be reunited when she's out. I got all of my wife's assets too. Thank you, if you need anything, I'll help you out."

This simple message sent chills down my spine.

Because it was talking about a trending news story I'd recently seen.

The outcome hadn't been announced online yet, the case was still under review. If he wasn't directly involved, how could he know so much?

Just as I thought it might be someone's cruel prank, the TV happened to broadcast the verdict of this case, matching the message exactly.

I casually averted my gaze and went to the study to investigate recent domestic violence murder cases. They all learned from a killing-wife tutorial linked to a specific ID - how to seize a wife's assets, how to get a light sentence or even be acquitted after murder.

Black text on a white background, yet dripping with the scent of blood.

Every word was a whisper from the devil.

The police had long been monitoring this ID, but they couldn't trace its IP or identify the account owner.

Clearly, the person behind it was well-prepared.

They wouldn't be easily brought to justice.

"Darling, it's so late. Still working? You need to rest properly sometimes, don't overwork yourself."

Holt's gentle voice rang out. I quickly switched tabs.

Looking up at Holt, I smiled casually, "Been too busy lately, can't help it."

Holt tenderly massaged my shoulders, saying with concern: "Don't tire yourself out. Work can wait, your health is the only thing that's truly yours."

Since we got married, Holt rarely showed his profit-driven side. On the contrary, he was incredibly attentive.

If we hadn't started out as a mutually beneficial arrangement, I might actually believe he was a kind and gentle man.

Moreover, when we saw recent news stories, his reactions seemed perfectly normal.

Sometimes he even got quite angry watching them."A partner for life is not your parents or children, but your darling. How can they treat their darling so cruelly?! Whatever anger they have outside, it shouldn't be brought home."

"Wanting to kill someone just for resisting is truly extreme. They had a good life, why ruin it by hurting others!"

"If life together really becomes unbearable, just get divorced. Fight over property, fight over kids, do whatever, but don't resort to murder. Killing someone destroys both the victim and the perpetrator. Even with a light sentence, what's the point? Your whole life is ruined, and someone is dead."

He acted so normal that I never once suspected him.

It seems acting ability truly is partly innate.

Meeting my gaze, Holt grew even more sympathetic.
