I turned around and saw Alec standing not far away, looking at us with a hint of suspicion.
"Oh, I ate some mango mousse and had a slight allergic reaction. I was asking Nash if they had any allergy medication at home."
Alec glanced at my swollen lips, his expression becoming somewhat understanding.
"How troublesome."
As my husband, he showed no concern for my wellbeing.
"You're my wife in name. Be mindful of how you socialize in public."
I nodded, then suddenly put on a panicked expression.
"Ah! Vivienne, how did you fall?"
Hearing my words, he hurriedly turned around, almost immediately about to run in the direction I was looking.
But there was only a wall there. Where was Vivienne?
"MELODY."
Alec gritted his teeth.
I shrugged fearlessly, "Sorry, I was mistaken."
After the birthday party, a few more uneventful days passed before I finally joined the group for our collective vacation.
Alec's mother's call, though delayed, eventually came.
