Chapter 3: The Awakening!

After a hour of Walk into nothingless, I found a place, it wasn't terrible—just an abandoned house, isolated and empty. It had nothing but a bed, a roof, and four walls. No signs of recent life, yet it wasn't in complete ruin. It would do for now.

Well Just like a normal person, I jumped on the bed and fell asleep. But after a hour or so... I was woken by a voice..

"Grimm."

A deep, hollow voice echoed through the room. My entire body froze.

At that moment, a screen flashed before my eyes.

[SYSTEM MESSAGE]

Congratulations, Hunter. You have awakened two abilities.

1st Ability: Summon

Rank: A

Description: The user can summon an Entity, a being that can serve multiple purposes but is primarily meant for combat. Each Entity has a different rank, though ranking alone does not determine power. A C-Rank Entity may defeat an S-Rank, but only if a strong enough bond exists between the user and the Entity.

User's Bestowed Entity: Grim Reaper

The user can summon a Grim Reaper, an Entity of Death bound to them. It always remains by the user's side, unseen by the public but visible to the user. However, upon summoning, it becomes visible to all—behaving exactly as it would in its natural state.

Warning: The Grim Reaper is immensely powerful. Full control is only possible at Rank B [Depends]. Current Rank: C.

2nd Ability: Inheritance

Rank: ???

Description: ???

I swallowed hard. A Summon Ability.

It sounded powerful, but the risks were high. My Summon would always be with me, unseen. But if I called it forth, everyone would see it—and worse, it would act as it pleased unless I could properly command it.

Still, I had to see it with my own eyes.

"Summon: Grim Reaper."

The air froze.

Darkness spread like ink through the room. A presence loomed over me—taller than anything I had ever seen.

A Grim Reaper.

Robes black as the void. A jagged scythe, pulsing with death. It face was pure dark, like an Abyss in it, hollow and infinite.

The moment I locked eyes on it—

Everything went dark.

I regained consciousness to the sound of an urgent beep from the System.

[SYSTEM NOTIFICATION]

EMERGENCY ALERT: Hunters with A-Class abilities, report to Dungeon Land immediately. If the dungeon is not cleared, an invasion will begin.

INHERITANCE ALERT:

Your Empire is in Danger!!!

Wait—what?!

A new screen appeared, different from my usual System interface. Unlike before, it wasn't just a floating notification.

It looked like a mobile phone interface.

My eyes locked onto the Inheritance app.

I tapped it.

Instantly, my screen changed.

I was no longer looking at my System. Instead, a real-time strategy-like view filled my vision—my Empire.

[TASK: PROTECT YOUR EMPIRE]

**Location**: Unknown Territory

**Population**: 30

**Notable Member**: Saintess (???)

**Threat**: 10 Goblins are attacking!

A simulation-like map displayed 30 people, huddled together in desperation. Among them, one figure stood out—an aura of light surrounding her. A Saintess.

But the real problem was the 10 goblins, raiding and burning what little they had.

There were no weapons. No shelter. No hope.

And unless I acted fast—

They were all going to die.

"Grim can help."

The voice came from my Summon, low and heavy, carrying a weight that sent shivers down my spine.

I swallowed. "Y-Yeah... that would be... helpful.", still not looking at Grim Reaper.

The Grim Reaper moved, but instead of appearing in the simulation, it merged into the System itself.

The next moment—

A single black slash tore through the battlefield.

The goblins didn't even have time to react.

One second they were there—screeching, burning, killing—the next, they were gone.

A System message flashed.

[SYSTEM UPDATE]

The moment I exited the Inheritance app, the air around me grew heavy again.
