" Enough, Mountail boulder technique " a soft murmur spread in our battlefield as the man let out a blast of chakra.
All of us retreated backward to judge the extent of his new technique.
"You think youngsters like you can defeat me..." His eyes looked livid from rage; small tremors surrounded his figure.
I turned towards Tokichiro. ' He is quite strong for a dead guy ' ." I looked at the soft winds following him. "You are strong."
It was a simple declaration, a fact, so to say... His expression lighted up at my comment.
His hand reaching towards the back of his head, he responded with an embarrassed look, "You are quite strong yourself..." He continued, "Thanks for holding back in the finals.".
'I never held back'; however, that wasn't something you could say... so I did what I could and nodded.
My gaze might have been on the brown-haired comrade; however, my senses were honed on the blue samurai.
Earth had stuck itself onto him like armor; small boulders and spikes adorned his figure. At the same time, it was as if earth itself was listening to his will.
"So that's the domain..." Muichiro muttered from the side.
Looking towards him, I appeared shocked. Even my meta knowledge doesn't cover what a domain is...
"What's a domain?" I asked tentatively.
"It is the peak of elemental manipulation for a samurai. All the chakra is stripped from the sword and flown in the surrounding," he spoke with awe. "The user loses his sword techniques and enhancement but gains the ability to manipulate the very environment itself."
'Looses one's sword technique... perhaps due to the inability to use chakra while wielding the environment,' I thought...
'This technique, even with its flaws, is very strong.'.
"Come," the man spoke to us.
I steeled my eyes. My sword felt heavy in my hands; the constant battle had worn me out.
'Misachi... I hope you are quick…' I thought with a resigned sigh.
"Everyone...let's attack," I spoke.
"Yes!"
"Let's go."
"Alright."
I smiled seeing their hopeful voices. It's time I bet my life on this battlefield.
'Fast Kata + Whirlwind Sword'
My sword grew into a swirling shape; I flickered onto him with a strike.
boom
A stone pillar crashed right onto my jaw, blowing me back with a heavy concussion.
My mind went blank for a minute before soon clearing out.
'Had that been a spike instead of a blunt pillar...'
"Kagami! We need your help!"
Tokichiro and Sora were continuously pressing the man, Toki's wind and Sora's speed working in a continuous arrangement.
One attacked, one defended... Meanwhile, Muichiro was preparing himself for some big attack. Water kept swirling around his figure, growing larger and larger.
'It seems he needs time to prepare,' I thought hurriedly.
Joining the battle once again, I quickly dodged an earth wall rushing towards me, zigzagging to avoid a small hole and countless appearing stone spikes. I kept making my way further in his domain.
"Urgh," I grunted as blood flew from the multiple cuts on my body.
Throwing two of the three kunai I had left at his face barely made him flinch.
" Patheti…" he spoke with a crazed smile on his face.
However, I barely stopped. My Whirlwind sword kept slashing and hacking at the obstacles in front of me.
"I...will...reach...you!" I spoke in small pauses, jumping side to side.
"No... you simply won't." He clapped his hands as a sign of an incoming attack.
I tried to dodge, but a wall the size of three Mokama's rushed at me.
"Urgh, ahh!" I let out a scream as the wall pushed me right out of the domain.
Toki and Sora were next; however, instead of flowing back...Sora had to escape for his life with a spike in his stomach.
Tokichiro, without mine or Sora's support, was overwhelmed with the barrage of attacks.
"I am ready, guys!" Muichiro whispered from the side.
Looking back into his eyes, I could see a soft but silent determination.
'I need to help him...' But what could I do...
'The system won't help... My techniques aren't working either…' However, a sudden idea clicked in my mind.
My hands started knitting signs, my brain remembering the flow of the movement to create the lightning jutsu.
Looking into Muichiro's eyes, a soft agreement happened without any words.
'Muichiro style, high stream tornado'
'Lightening style—lightening arc'
The water around Muichiro wildly rotated around his blade, pushing its length to near two meters.
"Die!!" he shouted.
My lightning arc was a simple lightning jutsu that let out a bolt of lightning.
'A D-rank jutsu, however, when combined with water...it's dangerous.'.
He let out a shout of pure willpower; his arms bulged as he threw his sword towards the man.
Huge earth and stone walls grew to stop the incoming sword.
boom
'That's one.'
boom
'That's two.'
boom
boom
'No...don't slow down.'
boom
The sword had destroyed almost all the stone walls, all but one. Its defenses lay tight. A cloud of dust covered the man.
'We lost...'
My head turned down... I wasn't depressed; it was simply a fact.
Looking at my body, huge cuts ranged on it, as if painting a piece of art. My shirt had torn in multiple places, and my kunai bag had just one kunai.
'Wait...Kunai.' My expression lighted up.
A voice rang from the cloud of smoke, "However, not enough."
The voice soon turned confused, "A kunai?"
His silhouette tilted its head, as if to dodge the incoming projectile.
whoosh
In a burst of smoke, the very kunai he had dodged turned itself into the figure of Kagami. His sharp grey eyes turned murderous.
'Fast slash'
sing
'Chakra enhancement cannot be used in such a state; hence, the reaction time is less than normal.'.
It was too big of an opportunity to pass up.
"Huff Huff" The dust cleared up only for Tokichiro and the rest to see Kagami standing alone in the area.
Looking down, the severed head of the samurai stood there.
"You... You did it." Muichiro was the first to speak before all of us shouted in joy.
" Hell yeah."
"I can't believe we won."
"Of course, big brother, my last move saved us all."
"You mean Kagami saved us all?"
"No, you idiot. My move, the big, strong water sword."
I looked towards them; my chakra had reduced itself to its very hinges. I had been battling for a while, and my body could barely hold itself. Sitting on one knee, I finally smiled in joy.
'I survived.'
Only because the man had been surprised and The Domain technique..while powerful must be chakra exhausting, leading to his ungaurded self.
'He must have seen Muichiro's attack as our last resort.'
However, he didn't know that I hadn't given up.
Smiling like a little kid who got rewarded, I finally spoke the magic word.
'System'
(White Fang system -20.7)
(Experience points -130)
(Experience points needed: -175)
(Part memory rewarded)
'Forty experience points for a master samurai?' ... The system still wasn't clear since I had no idea of knowing if the guy counted as a special jonin or jonin or elite jonin.
Suddenly a huge sound rang in the air. My hair stood on its ends; however, I was too tired to move.
"Was that a horn?" Muichiro spoke.
Our head lifted towards the main gate that we were entering.
"The army of the Daimyo is here!"
Huge soldiers in grey armor kept pouring out of the gate like water; their quantity was huge in number. They moved inside and stopped; the very next second, a huge man in simple clothing stepped forward.
His voice echoing in the air, "Higarashi, from the authority given to me by the daimyo and the clear evidence placed before me...I deem you guilty of staging a civil war.".
His bold voice resumed, "Submit."
The soldiers from both ends had almost stopped fighting; Higarashi's faction's faces were enveloped in
fright.
I looked up to see a small figure of Mifune and Higarashi standing face to face with each other.
However The very next second he disappeared, rushing off and jumping from the cliff of the arena to the outside city.
'He plans to run away.'
"Soldiers, capture him." The man points towards the right end of the soldiers who rush to catch the man.
The rest of the soldiers soon rush into the arena, carrying the citizens on stretchers, capturing the enemy faction, and putting them in chains.
However, a sudden and familiar voice quickly brightened up my mood.
"Kagami, we did it." Turning back, I saw Shisui and Misachi running towards me.
Their figures didn't stop for a second, and soon both of them jumped on me, hugging me as if I would disappear.
"Urgh, that hurts...gentle, please." They laughed at that and hugged me tighter.
'It actually hurts, 'I thought with a small smile on my face. Of course, the physical pain couldn't compare to the emotional joy.
It was clear I didn't know the amount of stress my body had taken...since the very next second, I blacked out.
