Sumaya finally turned her head, meeting his eyes for the first time. Deep brown—warm yet discerning, as if he saw more than he let on. A strange feeling stirred in her chest, but she ignored it.

She shook her head. "It's all yours," she muttered before looking away again.

Talon gave a small nod, lowering himself into the seat. He was silent for a moment, as if getting a feel for the space, then leaned slightly toward her, extending his hand.

"I'm Talon," he introduced himself, his voice smooth but firm, his expression calm yet carrying an air of easy confidence.

Sumaya hesitated briefly, eyeing his outstretched hand before finally taking it.

Her grip was just as firm as his, and for a fleeting second, their hands lingered before she pulled away.
