Marrok's jaw tightened, his gaze darkened as he his eyes locked onto Sumaya.

She was laughing—actually laughing—with the new student, the one whose name he hadn't bothered to remember. They walked alongside the pink clothing girl, their steps not far behind Oliver and his girlfriend, their conversation light, easy.

His jaw tightened further, and before he realized it, his fingers curled into a fist.

He had seen her playfully nudge the guy earlier, a small, seemingly harmless gesture. But now, seeing her smiling and laughing with him as they made their way out of the cafeteria, something about it really rubbed him the wrong way.

What the hell was this feeling?

Why did it bother him? Why did it feel like something inside him was twisting at the sight? Was Zeev's obsession with this girl starting to affect him too? And why—why—even now, was he still unable to read her mind?
