The car rolled to a stop in the manor's driveway. Before Raul could shift into park, Ulva leaned forward from the back seat, tapping his shoulder with sharp impatience. "The keys."
Her voice was clipped, her outstretched hand demanding.
Marrok barely turned his head from the passenger seat before Ulva snatched the key from Raul's grasp. Without another word, she shoved the door open and stepped out, slamming it behind her. Her backpack lay forgotten in the back seat.
Marrok sighed, dragging a hand down his face as he slumped against the seat. He had been trying to talk to her ever since their fight in the cafeteria, but she had dodged him at every turn, treating him like nothing more than a passing shadow. And now, she was walking away. Again.
"You're just going to let her go?" Raul asked, arching a brow as he draped an arm over the steering wheel. "Not like this is anything new."
