Hey, LazyRedMoon here, Now that I’ve completed the first volume of Journey of True Cultivation (JoTC), I wanted to write a bit about what readers can expect from this story and also share some of my thoughts behind creating it. Consider this a kind of extended author’s review, with a few spoilers, so please be warned if you want to go in blind. Why I Started Writing Journey of True Cultivation When I first thought about JoTC, I had one main goal, to create a more realistic view of cultivation. I’ve read a lot of cultivation stories, and while many are fun, I often felt disconnected from the way they handled progression. It always felt too simplified or repetitive. I wanted to break away from that and design a deep, structured, and internally consistent cultivation system, something that felt earned, not just handed over by plot convenience. At first, I only had the idea of building the system. I focused on the foundational elements of the cultivation path, the Dao, immortality, chaos, universes, etc. and began with the question, What would a true beginning to cultivation look like? The answer I found became the Mortal Ascension Realm, based on three core aspects of existence Body, Spirit, and Soul. That’s the fictional foundation for all beings in JoTC. To step into cultivation, a character must awaken their five senses, sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell, which leads to the Mortal Awakening Stage, the starting point of the body focused cultivation path. From there, I added spiritual blood (similar to blood qi in other novels) as a key mechanic to develop the body. And that’s just the surface of the system I’ve built. (I won’t go deeper here, as it would take too long to explain every layer of the cultivation system.) What You Can Expect from JoTC Dark Themes, This is a heavy, complex story with countless schemes, ranging from small interpersonal plots to massive cosmic scale manipulations. A Cold, Evil MC, Yuan, the protagonist, starts out emotionally detached. He isn’t a saint, far from it. While he doesn’t do outright evil acts early on, you’ll see his darker side emerge, especially after Chapter 90. That said, his character does evolve, by the end of Volume 1, he begins to shift, becoming more human in ways I won’t spoil here. No Brainrot Cultivation Tropes, You won’t find mindless power ups like “absorb energy, level up, repeat.” As I’ve said, cultivation in JoTC is slow, layered, and logical. It matters how and why someone advances, not just that they do. Emotional and Logical Realism, I try to make character decisions, emotional responses, and worldbuilding reasonable and believable within the logic of the story. If a character dies, schemes, or falls in love, it will have weight. Who Might Like This Story? If you love detailed cultivation systems, this is for you. If you enjoy slow burn progression, this is definitely your cup of tea. If you're here only for massive powerups and constant battles, you may want to wait until around Chapter 130. If you're tired of "young master dies, then sect elder dies, then ancient elder dies" rinse repeat cycles, give JoTC a shot. I promise, there’s more. Thanks for reading and supporting my journey so far. Volume 2 will build on everything Volume 1 set up and trust me, the real cultivation path is just beginning. A nice novel, I'm hocked to finally find a novel with a mature and scheming personality. An interesting find for sure .This book is a rare gem, the kind that hooks you from the first page and lingers long after you’ve turned the last. The author’s command of language is striking: every word feels deliberate, painting scenes that hit you in the gut or lift you with quiet beauty.

Okay, I’ve read up to the latest chapter, so I think I can give a relatively fair review. Overall, I think it’s a pretty good read . Now for a deeper look: Personally, the start was a bit slow and confusing, but that’s understandable as the author was still trying to shape and understand his own world. One thing I noticed was the mix of Eastern and Western names and structures (e.g., Alex, baron…). Honestly, I think it would’ve been better if you focused entirely on an Eastern style and naming scheme. That would’ve given the story a deeper and more immersive feel. Another thing was the tournament, it lasted way, way too long. I even considered dropping the story or skipping that part. After that, though, things started to pick up. Lastly, I hope you don’t stretch the slave mark subplot for too long. And, It would be great if you shifted more toward an Eastern theme. You could do that by introducing new characters with Eastern names and slowly phasing out the older ones, or letting their lights fade out. Anyway, good luck, fellow author! Keep going. (Evil Mark approved, I’ll add it to my list.)

Hi, writer. I must ask. I put your novel in the library. Seriously. Will the novel reach 1000 chapters or more? Because if so. I think that I must start reading from now .❤️❤️❤️ . And do not forget to remove romance or harem. And we want a character who only know the benefits and thanks
