He returned home to her biting nails, avoiding his eyes and squirming back and forth, but chose not to question her. Even though he was puzzled at yet another change in her behavior.

He eyed her, cleaning and organizing the apartment, later sitting right in front of her, under the warmth of the Kotatsu. 'Her hair — why are they like that?'

"Do you want something?" His tone was meek. He craned his neck backward and looked at her, his fists tightening on his folded thighs. He had been biting his tongue.

She stared darkly into his eyes, her body motionless, her hands fisting on her thighs, her jaw clenching. 'What do I do?'

"Are -- are you sick?" He stood up, his feet sluggish and hesitant, and sat on his knees beside her, placing his hands on his thighs. He was dying of worry. He checked her temperature, his palm on her forehead, and found her to be of sound temperature. The piece of information he needed to take a breath of relief.

"Did something happen?" He further demanded, his tone low, his adorable eyes staring at her reddened face, awaiting her response.

She said nothing. He sat there for a good minute, his eyes fluttering, and then stood up when his question went unanswered. He just did not wish to disturb her. But before he could take a step, he felt a grasp on his wrist and he froze.

His heart pounded louder through his chest, pupils dilated and his breaths stopped in his throat, thinking, 'What is happening?'

'Why did I have to hurt him?' She stared at his frozen back a while, her brown eyes glazed over at first, then confident, and pulled him on the floor, removing the floor from under his feet like a rug.

'I'll just do whatever comes to my mind now.

She discarded her laptop aside and wrapped her arms around his chest from his shoulder, intertwining her fingers. She placed her chin on his shoulder, exhaled softly in surrender, and closed her eyes. Lost the battle against her mind.

"Z-ziya?" His tone, almost like a whisper. His eyes wandered here and there.
