Chapter 19: Think About It

Rhea Vale said to him, "Well, the ancients said that we shouldn't eat food that comes from other people's mouths."

Riven Ashford was speechless.

This little thing must have drunk a belly full of water, right? This made him angry. His original intention was to tease her, but he did not expect her to react like this. Riven Ashford said, "I'll put the muffin next to you. If you want to eat it, beg me."

Rhea Vale was still full of water. She pulled her blanket over her head, wanting to go to sleep. However, she realized that Riven Ashford was holding onto the blanket. With her sharp claws, she slapped the back of his hand a few times, causing it to turn red. Then, she forcefully pulled the blanket away and covered herself with it, preparing to sleep.

This little girl was really hitting him with all her strength. Riven Ashford looked at the red marks on the back of his hand and thought to himself, 'Is she trying to murder her husband?'

He placed the food on the coffee table, got up, and said, "I'm going to sleep. If you're hungry, help yourself." Riven Ashford, who had always been arrogant, had become a bit more humble with her. However, he did not notice that until he turned off the lights and went to sleep. He also did not realize that he had already begun to let his guard down with Rhea Vale.

In the middle of the night, Rhea Vale woke up a few times because she drank too much water. Riven Ashford only managed light sleep. Every time she woke up, he could sense that Rhea was being very quiet. She did not want to wake him up, so she went to the bathroom without wearing her slippers.

Once again, after Rhea fell asleep, Riven Ashford got up to see if she had eaten anything. In the end, he realized that this stubborn girl really did not eat the muffin. Would drinking water really fill her up?

Riven Ashford looked at Rhea, who had fallen asleep again. She had kicked the blanket to the ground. Riven Ashford looked at her, deep in thought. 'If she was still here, she would be the same age as you this year. You're a sophomore this year... She would be a university student now, right?'

...

The next morning, Rhea's ringtone woke the two of them up at the same time. Rhea struggled to get up from the sofa and took her clothes to the bathroom to change. Then, she crept into a small corner and pulled out her suitcase. She opened it on the ground, put her pajamas in, closed it, and locked it. Then, she placed the suitcase back in the small corner.

Her actions surprised Riven Ashford once again. He suddenly remembered that the cloakroom was filled with his things, and there wasn't a single thing of hers. Other than the cloakroom, there did not seem to be anything of hers in any corner of the room. Riven Ashford's gaze fell on the few suitcases in the corner. Could it be that all of her things were still inside?

Riven Ashford asked, "Rhea Vale, where did you put your clothes?"

...

Rhea pointed at the suitcase in the corner. "Don't worry, I didn't use your cloakroom and cabinet. They're all in there."

"Why not?" Riven Ashford felt an inexplicable sense of loss. Rhea always made him feel like she was going to escape unscathed at any moment.

Rhea casually replied, "I don't want to use them."

After saying that, Rhea walked into the bathroom and started to wash up. Riven Ashford was at the door, observing her through the mirror on the sink. He was very confused. What kind of girl was she? She seemed to have many faces. Some were arrogant, some were stubborn, some were sensible, and some were cute. However, if anyone bullied her, she would fight with them without any fear.

However, she did not sleep in his bed. Instead, she slept on the sofa. Her act of keeping a distance between the two of them made a strong impression on him.

Doubt was the prerequisite for curiosity. When curiosity was aroused, one would unconsciously want to deepen their understanding. When it came to wanting to understand a person, one would take the initiative to understand that person. That would be dangerous...

Rhea Vale was very uncomfortable here. Every meal in the Ashford family's house felt like a fishbone in her throat. When the two of them went downstairs, she said to Riven Ashford again, "Think about it. Let's move out and live together!"

Riven Ashford said, "I'll think about it."

Rhea Vale said, "Then, think about it carefully. Moving out is only good for us. There's no harm. You don't want to see me make your family angry, do you? You don't want to be bound by these rules, do you?"

Rhea Vale understood one thing. In the Ashford family, only Riven Ashford could help her move out. Even if she had the ability to rent a house, she could not do so. What daughter-in-law would be allowed to rent a house after being married for only a few days? Moreover, she was married into the Ashford family. The rules of the Ashford family were strict, so they would not allow it.

"No one can restrain me at home. As long as you don't anger me, others don't care." To put it bluntly, Riven Ashford did not want to move out. He was deliberately letting Rhea Vale experience life in the Ashford family's old residence.

Rhea Vale was a smart person and immediately understood what he meant.
