Adrian opened the first page and read the topic, "History of the Alliance."
The Alliance was created after the first awakened appeared, it consisted mostly of the strongest awakened and prestigious families that survived the first war, after coming together, the alliance managed to defeat all the Zularks that touched down on earth.
The aftermath of the battle created a desolate region they termed as "the wasteland". The wasteland, a desolate and barren landscape, inhabited by ferocious creatures that appeared after the Zularks were defeated, they came in different shapes and sizes.
The strongest beast humanity have ever faced was an S-tier Scaled griphon. The beast claimed the lives of many alliance officers before it was finally defeated.
Using the weapons and spaceships they salvaged from the Zularks, it helped them make a significant leap in technology, they built weapons that surpassed what humans was used to, spaceships they used to explore other planets around earth, coming across vast resources that further increases their power.
Finding the planets also came with disadvantages, they met some lifeforms on some planets, some of them were friendly and welcomed the humans with open hands, the others that outright attacked them with the desire to kill, thus becoming enemies.
Having finished the history section, Adrian turned his academy to the academy's history...
"The academy was created 22 years ago, the academy's purpose was to teach and nurture awakened to help in the fight against the aliens, most of the awakened that help fought back the Zularks and protect earth graduated from the Alliance academy...
Adrian let out a deep breath, his eyes still closed, as he processed the wealth of information he had just read. The history of the Alliance and the Academy was fascinating!
He slowly opened his eyes, his gaze drifting towards the clock on his watch. The briefing was about to start, and he didn't want to be late.
He stepped outside the room and moved through the hallway, his shoes clanking sound echoad through the hallway, other cadets could be seen going towards the stairs.
Adrian saw Dave coming out from his room and approached him, they both exchanged greetings and continued heading for the multipurpose hall, after exiting the dorms building, the cadets took a left turn and kept on waking, a few meters ahead was another building, the cafeteria.
The cadets conversed amongst themselves as they moved through the tarred road, headed for the multipurpose hall. Moments later they all came to a stop, standing in front of a large imposing structure that dwarced all the cadets.
The main entrance is a large, glass paneled door with a sleek, silver handle. Above the entrance, a cantilevered roof provided shade and protection from the elements.
Adrian stepped through the door, feeling the cold air inside the hall, he rubbed his plans together, he observed the spacious, well-designed hall, taking in the high ceilings, large windows, and polished floor.
The walls were adorned with neutral-colored panels, and the space was well-lit with a combination of overhead lighting. The seating arrangement was tiered, with each row slightly higher than the last, creating a sense of depth.
At the front of the hall, a raised platform served as the stage, with red curtains draped to one side.
Adrian and Dave took their seat, waiting for the briefing to start, "Mhen, I'm famished, I'll eat something at the cafeteria after we're finished here." Adrian touched his stomach as he told Dave.
"Yeah, me too, can't wait to see what they have to offer!" Dave replied enthusiastically.
"Oh, after reading the handbook, it said that other organizations and families emerged, does that mean that other schools are similar to the alliance academy?" Adrian asked with a curious gaze.
Dave shifted in his seat and replied, "Yeah, many other academies teach awakened, although not all of them are up to par with the alliance academy." Dave explained.
"Uh, one more thing, if you don't mind, can you show me your information on your watch, I want to check something out," Adrian scratched the back of his head as he asked with a sheepish smile on his face.
Dave nodded and showed his watch, the holographic display showing his Information...
>> NAME : DAVE PENALDOMIE <<
>> SEMESTER : FIRST YEAR CADET <<
>> STATUS : AWAKENED > ABILITY : C-RANK-GRANITEHEART <<
>> POINTS : 10 POINTS <<
>> MAP <<
>> TO-DO <<
...
After reading it, the holographic display disappeared, Adrian turned to look at Dave, a surprised expression on his face, "Whoa, a C rank ability?! Nice!" Adrian praised.
"Haha, thanks, it increases my strength and defense, so I'm still learning to use it," Dave laughed as he replied.
They continued to chat when the air around the hall grew heavy, they all turned their attention to the stage, and standing silently on the stage was a dark haired man with his gruffy beards, he wore a black suit that showed his prestigious standing, his lazy eyes gazed at the cadets.
"Good day cadets, I'm Principal Argent, and I'll be over seeing your stay and activities at the academy. Firstly I want to welcome you to the academy and assure that you're all in safe hands, your only priority is to learn and grow stronger, and as you prepare for the upcoming challenges. I want to remind you that discipline, preserveance and hard work will be your key to success, don't be afraid to take calculated risks and learn from your mistakes... " principal Abdullah let the cadets take in his words, then he raised one of his fingers.
"You stand at a threshold of a new era, one that will test your limits, forge your spirit, and define the fate of humanity itself.
In this academy, you will train harder than you ever have. You will break, stumble, and fall. But you will rise stronger each time.
The academy is no place for lazy and weak hearted individuals, you will be trained by the best teachers you can ask for, deciding to learn is your choice, believe you can, and you're halfway there!" his deep voice reverberated through the hall as his figure slowly vanished.
The cadets, filled with determination clapped, as the principals figure vanished, inspired by his words, a determined gaze settled on their faces.
And strength they will attain!
Instructor Ryker stepped on the stage, his voice rang out as he spoke, "Alright cadets. As you settle into life here at the academy, it's essential to understand out point system. Points are the currency used in the academy, and you'll receive 10 points every week as stipend. You can also earn additional points by completing tasks and missions, demonstrating exceptional skills in classes, or receiving rewards from instructors. Of course points can also be exchanged between cadets."
" The mission section won't be available for now, you have to prove yourselves before you can start taking on missions, am I understood?"
"Yes sir!" the cadets all said in unison.
