Burning village

Seriphina's eyes widened at the revelation.

Slowly, dark flames began to surround her form, eating away at the floor around her.

All her life, ever since she survived the onslaught that took her parents from her, she believed it was done by some bandits or at least a monster...

No one else in the barony knew what caused the dangerous attack that nearly killed everybody.

To think it was all done by the monster living inside of her.

"You killed my parents," she said out loud.

The endless darkness around her began to burn, flames dancing in the sky.

With a menacing smile, Death replied, "That is correct. I killed them."

While Seriphina could hear what Death said, she could still feel that Death felt guilty about something.

Not like there was anything she could do about it.

Falling to her knees, Seriphina could no longer cry. She simply remained there, her eyes in shock.
