Chapter 6.3 - After Him

"The New Earth God."

Glancing left and right, Adam couldn't pinpoint where the voice was coming from. Knowing it wasn't from the ground, he tilted his head upward, tracing the trail of a dust cloud until a man flew out from within it.

Marduk, with his war hammer in hand.

The sight of the monster took Adam's breath, his altitude wavered with shock.

It couldn't have been just his imagination, but Adam was certain the man looked larger and younger than he remembered. His long beard, enough to reach his chest, was as dark as the hair on his head. He wore no armor this time, leaving his torso bare and showcasing his powerfully built muscles.

"Adam Cross, your mother sent you her regards."

The world became distant, frozen in time. All the citizens screaming was muffled. Far away he thought he heard his name being called but he didn't pay any attention.
