As Joy and Sorrow crossed the river, they caught sight of a magnificent city in the distance. The city shone like a beacon, its towers and spires glinting in the sunlight.
Joy's sparkles shone with excitement. "Wow," she said. "Look at that!"
Sorrow's wings fluttered with wonder. "It's beautiful," it said. "I've never seen anything like it."
As they drew closer, they saw that the city was filled with wonders. There were buildings that seemed to defy gravity, floating in mid-air with no visible support. There were streets paved with glittering gemstones, and fountains that flowed with crystal clear water.
Joy and Sorrow wandered through the city, marveling at each new wonder. They came across a great square, filled with people from all corners of the world. There were creatures with scales and feathers, and beings made of pure light.
Joy's sparkles shone with delight. "This is amazing," she said. "I've never seen so many different creatures in one place."
Sorrow nodded, its wings fluttering with excitement. "It's wonderful," it said. "I feel like I'm finally home."
As they watched, a procession emerged from the palace at the heart of the city. There were dignitaries and officials, all dressed in their finest attire.
At the head of the procession was a magnificent being, with wings that shone like the sun. It was the ruler of the city, and it regarded Joy and Sorrow with a warm, benevolent smile.
"Welcome, little ones," it said. "I have been expecting you. My name is Lumina, and I am the guardian of this city."
Joy's sparkles shone with wonder. "It's an honor to meet you," she said.
Lumina's smile grew wider. "The honor is mine," she said. "I have a special task in mind for you, one that requires your unique gifts and talents."
Joy and Sorrow exchanged a curious glance. What could Lumina's task possibly be?...
