I politely took the flowers from his hand and set them aside.

Alec struggled to contain his excitement.


"Melody, there's no way I could mistake you for someone else. During all this time you were gone, I could only fall asleep looking at your photo every night."


"You don't understand," I said, a mocking smile playing on my lips.


"Alec, the Melody you knew is dead. She's no longer your wife."


Alec threw his head back in anguish and let out a cry.


"Melody, why are you doing this to me?"


"Why did you get rid of our child without saying a word!"


"How can you be so selfish! We're husband and wife, what gives you the right to fall out of love just like that!"


He was the one who cheated, he was the one who fell in love with Vivienne.
