Chapter 10

After my 'death', Melody's parents were released from prison.

They forcibly took Melody back home, unleashing years of pent-up anger on her once again.

Ridiculously, when faced with danger, Melody foolishly tried to hide behind Nolan.

She thought Nolan would protect her like I did years ago, standing up to her parents.

Unfortunately, what she got instead was Nolan kicking her while she was down.

Nolan told Melody to marry him, otherwise he'd have no right or reason to stop her parents from taking her away.

Melody was almost stupefied at that moment.

After all, over the years, although she had been kind to Nolan, she always saw him as a younger brother and never thought about marrying him. Moreover, I had just died, and she was still immersed in the grief of losing me. Yet Nolan made such an outrageous demand.

She thought Nolan liked her, and stammered as she carefully chose her words to reject him, only to be met with Nolan's grotesque mockery.
