Chapter 6: The Marvelous Use of the Ship Spirit

Red again!!!

For the third time seeing this familiar color, Kyle's eyes lit up. He couldn't help but lick his lips, his face brimming with satisfaction.

*The third red!*

This meant he'd once again drawn an **A-rank prize**—and one that was critically important to him personally: **a captain's skill!!!**

Under his ecstatic gaze…

A translucent illustration of a boy with flames flickering on his hands and forehead soon materialized before him.

*Tsunayoshi Sawada!*

Kyle immediately recognized the name. This was the protagonist of *Katekyō Hitman Reborn!*, a wildly popular shonen anime from years past. Tsuna, the classic "zero-to-hero" underdog, starts as a hopeless loser until he meets Reborn, a hitman-turned-tutor from the Italian mafia, and embarks on a series of thrilling adventures.

Of course, none of that mattered to Kyle right now.

What he truly cared about was **which of Tsuna's skills** he'd obtained!

Since Kyle rarely played male characters, he wasn't deeply familiar with Tsuna's abilities. But landing an **A-rank Tsuna** in a gacha pool filled with low-tier characters…

*This gacha system is* ***absolutely fair****!* Kyle mentally applauded.

The answer soon revealed itself.

After lingering for mere seconds, Tsuna's image dissolved into a streak of light and merged into Kyle's body. A flash later, a new entry appeared in his skill column:

**[Skill: Hyper Intuition]**

**[Rank: A]**

**[Description: The pinnacle of human perception. Grants the ability to see through illusions, detect subtle details, and even glimpse the future through instinct.]**

"**Hyper Intuition**… *This* of all things?"

Kyle's jubilation froze. His expression twisted into something complicated.

As someone who'd watched *Reborn!*, he knew exactly what Hyper Intuition entailed: immunity to illusions, razor-sharp combat awareness, and flashes of insight during critical decisions. While it didn't directly boost offensive power, it was an incredibly versatile support skill.

The only problem was…

**It overlapped** ***way*** **too much with Observation Haki!!!**

Seeing through illusions, predicting enemy movements, even foreseeing the future—these were all feats achievable through advanced Observation Haki.

Glancing at his system interface, Kyle grimaced.

The experience required to level up skills had already quintupled from Level 2. Future upgrades would only grow more grueling, making skill slots increasingly precious.

Here he was, burning a rare slot for what amounted to a **maxed-out Observation Haki**.

*Is this a win or a loss?*

After all, he already possessed the training method for Observation Haki. Given time and the system's aid, even if he couldn't reach Charlotte Katakuri's future-sight level, he'd still surpass ordinary limits.

This "Hyper Intuition" felt… redundant.

"Ugh, why does even a skill draw have to mess with my head?"

Sighing, Kyle shoved the frustration aside. Dwelling on spilled milk was pointless. An A-rank skill was still a triumph.

Shifting focus, he pulled up the **[Dry Dock]** system.

He'd explored the two **[Gacha]** machines—the third, "Legendary Gacha," remained locked. Now, it was time to test the ship-related functions.

The familiar interface reappeared. Repeating his earlier ritual, Kyle hauled out another bag of cash.

As expected, a "**+**" symbol materialized beside the *Diga*'s experience bar. With a thought, he tapped it. The bag of bills instantly lost a tenth of its bulk.

Kyle mashed the "+" nine more times.

*Whoosh!*

The once-plump money bag deflated like a punctured balloon. Simultaneously, a mysterious glow swept from the ship's bow to stern.

Kyle felt an intangible shift in the vessel's aura.

Before he could inspect the upgrades, a soft, childlike voice chimed behind him:

"Good morning, Captain."

"**Wha—?!**"

Kyle nearly jumped out of his skin. Spinning around, he yanked his seastone-loaded pistol from its holster and scrambled backward.

Then he froze.

Looking down, he saw a child barely over a meter tall, face shadowed by a hood, tilting its head in confusion. Though features were obscured, Kyle inexplicably sensed the little one's innocent puzzlement.

"Hello, Captain. I am Diga, this ship's spirit."

"D-Diga…?"

Recognition dawned. The tension drained from Kyle's posture.

*The ship spirit!*

In *One Piece*, the Going Merry's Klabautermann had moved him to tears. Now, his own ship's spirit stood before him—alive and real.

Instantly, his gaze softened.

"Hello, Diga. I'm Kyle, captain of this ship." He reached out to pat the spirit's head…

…only for his hand to phase through empty air.

*No physical form, huh?*

Yet Diga's cheer was palpable. The system-forged spirit faced none of the usual restrictions—it could roam freely aboard the ship.

After introductions, Kyle cut to the chase:

"Diga, as the ship spirit, do you have special abilities? Like… steering the ship?"

In the anime, Merry's spirit could repair itself and autopilot. Kyle *needed* this workload off his shoulders—he had zero sailing experience.

Diga bounced eagerly. "Yes! Yes! I can control navigation, repair damage, and even help fight!"

"Fight? How?"

"Um… May I demonstrate with a cannonball?"

"Go ahead."

*Poof!* Diga vanished. Seconds later, the storage door creaked open.

The tiny spirit wobbled into view, lugging a cannonball toward the deck's artillery. With practiced ease, he loaded the cannon. A spark ignited the fuse.

*BOOM!*

The shot screamed across the waves, erupting into a towering geyser.

"Like that!" Diga reappeared, practically glowing for praise.

"Impressive!" Kyle blinked, then narrowed his eyes. "Wait—you can *solidify*?!"

He'd clearly seen Diga carry the heavy cannonball.

"Mhm! I turn solid when doing tasks, then go back to normal after."

Kyle's grin turned devious.

*If Diga can materialize…*

A world-shaking idea took root in his mind.
