Ethan, Sarah, and Varian entered the Academy both Sarah and Ethan marveled at the prestigious place. Unique architecture matched a value between a previous era and a futuristic prosperity. Massive structures were laid all over the place, along with fountains and parks, as they passed through the entry point.
Sarah was clad in a grey skirt and white formal shirt with a grey blazer. There was an imperial Phoenix symbol embroidered on the blazer's pocket with golden threads. It also had a one star on its colors, depicting her academic year status as a student of the academy. This is the formal official uniform of the academy. That is enchanted with size and temperature regulation runes.
From her expression, she seemed uncomfortable in the uniform as more used to wear baggy clothes. Her personality isn't as stuck up as other kids from prominent backgrounds. She is more like a free bird who isn't sheltered by her father's name and status.
Ethan, on the other also wore similar clothes except for the skirt thing. He had a grey formal pant. He found the uniform to be quite comfortable and unique.
He took out the ID card that he found on his table along with the uniform this morning in on the table in the living room. This was sent by Zypher, then Ks, to the space affinity and authority within the federation and academy to issue an ID card for him. Ethan himself was dumbfounded at first when he realized that Zypher registered him as a student of the Academy and even issued his ID card within a few hours.
Truly, this world belongs to the powerful. If you have enough power at your disposal, who dares to stop you. This is what Ethan aspires to be and even surpasses it.
"Scram, you little shits. Stop following me around like idiots." Varian said as he pointed at Ethan while he still had his usual annoyed face, but this time, he had a reason because he got nagged by his wife, Lhea, as she caught the cigarette smell on his clothes.
Varian left them alone as he went to the Staff zone. Both Sarah and Ethan stood there for a second about what to do.
"Your class?" Sarah asked as they both started walking towards the Academic building after coming out of their stupor at Varian's laziness.
"I haven't checked yet," Ethan answered as he decided to take a look at his ID card.
It was a small rectangular card that seemed like a digital screen. It displayed all the necessary information about Ethan on the screen.
-------------
FEDERAL DEVIANT ACADEMY
Student Name: Ethan Holmes
Academic Year: 1st
Academic Rank: 5
Student Rank: Tier 1 Devaint
Class: 1 (1st Year)
--------------
Ethan had no idea how they did it, but he was directly issued a student ID card. According to the proper procedure, he is already a week late to register for the academy. He didn't even take the entrance exams. Even those rich kids from prominent backgrounds are not given this privilege to get entry into the Academy through backdoor methods. Well, then again, not every person has a great house and lunatic super-powerful deviant on their tail, do they? As for Zypher, he is another plus point. He at least deserves this, doesn't he?
Ethan shook his head as he put these useless thoughts to the back of his concerns as he looked at Sarah.
"Class 1...but why does my rank is so high?" Ethan spoke with an annoyed tone. His lips twitched when whenever he looked at his student rank.
"That's because a senior commander from the military witnessed your fights with his own eyes and gave his evaluation," Sarah said nonchalantly as if it was the right thing to begin with.
Ethan just nodded his head in understanding and then took out his phone and called his parents.
He heard the automatic reply and then put his phone back into his pocket.
Sarah, who saw his actions, remained silent as they walked towards their class.
"Oi Sarah!" Suddenly they heard a loud voice so they both turned around and saw a young blonde boy running towards them.
He had blonde hair and a chiseled, handsome face. He had golden-red flamboyant eyes, giving him a fiery appearance. He was clad in an academy uniform with one star at his collar depicting his 1st year as a student. He passed through the students as he approached Ethan and Sarah.
"Damn, kiddo...you are just on time. I thought you wouldn't be coming today" the boy spoke as he gave a high-five to Sarah.
"By the way, the rankings list is on the Academy Portal. A new guy named Ethan is the hot topic from the morning but you know the funny thing? No one saw him during the entrance exam!" The boy spoke in a vibrant tone and then he shifted his gaze to Ethan.
"Whoa, who's this?" He asked as he looked at Ethan up and down.
"The hot topic himself, Ethan," she answered with a cheeky face.
"Oh...yo, buddy. I didn't imagine meeting ya like this. By the way, Im Jasper Verden. If you are free after the classes, wanna spar with me?" Jasper introduced himself and then asked with an excited look in his eyes.
"I will pass. I have something to take care of," Ethan declined, but he still shook hands with Jasper.
"A shame...well, let's go to class. I'm in the class 1, by the way. What about you guys?" Jasper asked.
"Same" both Sarah and Ethan answered in unison.
"Jinx!" Sarah hurriedly said as she looked at Ethan with a weird gaze and she heaved a sigh of relief instantly.
Ethan, who got jinxed, knew about these Genz shenanigans from the Earth, so he didn't take it seriously and just gave a light smile.
"By the way, you aren't the only one who made a sensation this time. Another student named Raizel Crescent, from a no-name background, ranked top this year. I bet that damn Valerian must be seething in anger right now," Jasper said as he walked to the front.
"By the way, Ethan, how did you get that ranking, bro? I mean, you didn't even take the entrance exam!" Jasper asked curiously which made Ethan frown.
*BAM*
"Stop being so nosy, dumbo" Sarah spoke with an annoyed tone as she gave him a slap on the back.
"What the...I was just trying to initiate a convo, bruh" Jasper shook his head with a sigh.
"If you are not from any prominent background, just make sure you keep some distance from Valerian Rhinehart, bro. Unlike his elder brother Zypher, he is too stuck up with his so-called noble great house legacy and shit. And the worst thing, he is too cunning and calm with such a mindset" Jasper warned Ethan.
Just as they were talking, they reached their classroom as they passed through the corridors full of students. Everyone seemed to be in a hurry as it was the first day of their Academy life. No one wanted to miss such an important day.
*creak*
The trio entered with Jasper at the front, Sarah in the middle, and Ethan in the end.
The moment they entered, they froze as a menacing gaze landed on them. It was none other than Varian. Worst, the class was already full, with only three seats empty at the front, and all 47 students were looking at them.
"You are late..." Varian spoke with an annoyed tone as he looked at them.
'Is this fucker for real?!'
Ethan cursed Varian in his mind. He was never a fan of schools and colleges, to begin with, and that's the reason he entered the military.
"Scram and find your seats now..." Varian spoke with a sigh and then stood behind the podium at the stage below.
Ethan simply looked at the seats as his gaze wandered through the massive hall with benches arranged in a staircase style. Sarah and Jasper sat together on the second desk in the middle row annoyed face. They had no interest in sitting in the front seat as it only made them anxious. They both are more comfortable at the last desk. Too bad, they can't just create a ruckus in Varian's presence to get a seat at the last desk.
Ethan, who looked even more frustrated had no other choice but to sit at the front desk. Thankfully, he was sitting beside a beautiful girl who was, no doubt, from the Rhinehart family thanks to her silver-white hair and pearly-bluish beautiful eyes. She had a thin, beautiful face, and her skin was always usually pale white but looked charming and attractive.
"Ahem...move." Ethan, being an inexperienced guy with females, struggled to speak as he asked her to move a little. Sarah had a tomboyish personality that didn't make him feel uncomfortable with her, but this white-haired girl had a girly appearance.
"..." Emilia Rhinehart looked at Ethan with squinted eyes but moved as she looked at Varian on the stage.
"Hehe~" Ethan heard a cheeky laugh from Sarah and Jasper from behind, which made it even more tense.
'What the...I just asked her to move damnit!'
Ethan screamed in his mind. Feeling a little tense, he took out a small ice cream pack he had stuffed inside his ring from Paradise City and threw it entirely inside his mouth sneakily. Meanwhile, Emilia, who saw his actions, made weird facial expressions as she found him quite distasteful and uncivilized.
"It's time for attendance," Varian spoke as he ignored Ethan's little shenanigan. He was worse than Ethan when he was a student. Besides, Varian doesn't a damn what students do as long as they give positive results. He is simply too lazy to bother with nagging a few little kids.
