Chapter 8: The New World

Koneko blinked at Kenji's offer of a reward.

"No need, Kenji-senpai. Playing games itself was the reward."

Her voice was calm, but there was the faintest hint of satisfaction in her tone.

Without saying anything else, she simply turned and left, disappearing into the night.

Kenji leaned back on his couch, exhaling.

"That went well."

Over the next several days, Kenji settled into a routine—attending classes at Kuoh Academy during the day, then spending his nights hunting Stray Devils.

His reasons were simple:

1. Stray Devils sometimes carried Golden Eggs. Even if most of them were just one-star, they were still useful.

2. Fighting gave him experience. He needed as much real combat training as possible.

His growth was steady—but he was hungry for more.

One evening, after finishing another hunt, Kenji sat down in his apartment and called out—

"System, show my status."

A screen appeared before him.

The air smelled different. The sky was clear and bright, but the buildings around him were ancient, towering structures with spire-like roofs.

The street was bustling with people—but something was off.

Not everyone here was human.

Kenji's golden eyes scanned his surroundings.

He saw orcs, elves, catgirls, dwarves, and even goblins—all mingling with humans.

"A fantasy world?"

Then, his gaze locked onto a massive tower piercing the sky.

Something about it felt familiar.

Kenji's eyes narrowed.

"Wait a second…"

Then, as if fate itself confirmed his suspicion—

A loud, gruff voice spoke from behind him.

"Hey, kid. First time in Orario?"

Kenji turned.

A burly orc vendor stood behind a fruit stall, arms crossed. His fanged grin was friendly, but his eyes were sharp.

Kenji didn't hesitate.

"Yeah. First time here. Mind telling me where I am?"

The orc chuckled. "New adventurer, huh? Well, you're in Orario—the Labyrinth City!"

Kenji's heart pounded.

Orario.

That meant—

He was in the world of "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?"

Kenji's lips curled into a grin.

"This… just got interesting."

Kenji continued speaking with the orc, absorbing as much information as he could.

"I bet you're looking to join a Familia, huh?" the orc said.

Kenji nodded. "Yeah. Any recommendations?"

The orc smirked. "If you want real power, there are only two choices—the Loki Familia and the Freya Familia."

Kenji already knew this. In this world, Familia were the key to gaining strength.

Without one, you couldn't gain the blessing of the gods—and you couldn't level up.

"Thanks, old man." Kenji nodded and walked off, lost in thought.

"I need to pick the right Familia… and I need to start hunting monsters."

After all—where there were monsters, there were Golden Eggs.

Kenji clenched his fist.

His journey in this world had just begun.

And he was going to get stronger than ever before.
