Proof of the White Tiger’s Support

The journey to the Azure Dragon Clan's domain was relentless. Riding atop their Sunfire Coursers, Xue Mor, Shinryu, and her guards carved a blazing path across the lands, covering great distances with minimal rest.

Shinryu had agreed to accompany her—not as her escort, but as living proof of Torra Zhen's support. The White Tiger Clan's stance carried weight, and if Shin Rai respected anything, it was strength backed by certainty.

As they approached the storm-wreathed mountains, where the Azure Dragon Clan's citadel loomed, Xue Mor stole a glance at Shinryu.

"You know Shin Rai won't make this easy."

Shinryu smirked, his golden claw-like markings catching the sunlight. "Of course. If he did, he wouldn't be Shin Rai."

Their coursers thundered through the entrance of the Azure Dragon Clan's stronghold, massive dragon statues coiled around towering pillars, their sapphire eyes glowing with lightning. Guards hesitated for only a moment before allowing them through.

Inside the grand hall, Shin Rai sat upon his throne of coiling azure scales, his arms crossed, his golden eyes filled with sharp amusement. Beside him stood Raikai, silent but watchful.

Shin Rai's eyes flickered between Xue Mor and Shinryu, lingering longer on the latter. His smirk deepened.

"Well, well. The White Tiger Clan has sent their cub," he mused, tapping his fingers against the armrest. "Tell me, Shinryu, are you here as a warrior… or as a messenger?"

Shinryu met his gaze without hesitation. "Both."

Shin Rai let out a low chuckle. "Then speak."

Xue Mor stepped forward. "The Great Collapse is near. The Phoenix Cry Empire seeks to unite its strongest allies before chaos swallows the land. The White Tiger Clan has agreed to stand with us. I have come to secure the Azure Dragon Clan's support as well."

Shin Rai leaned back, exhaling through his nose. "Your father sends you to speak for him? That's unusual."

Xue Mor's lips curled slightly. "He trusts me to handle matters that words alone cannot solve."

Shin Rai chuckled. "That sounds like an excuse for him to avoid me." His gaze flickered back to Shinryu. "And Torra Zhen supports this alliance?"

Shinryu nodded. "The Ancient White Tiger Clan has pledged its strength. I am here as proof."

The air grew heavier. Even Raikai's eyes sharpened slightly.

The White Tigers and Azure Dragons had never bowed to any empire. If Torra Zhen had agreed, it meant he had judged the coming collapse as too dangerous to face alone.

Shin Rai rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Interesting."

Then, suddenly, his smirk returned. "But words and alliances mean nothing if you can't stand on your own."

Xue Mor exhaled through her nose. "I assume this means a duel."

Shin Rai laughed. "Of course. You know how things work here." He gestured toward Raikai.

"Fight him. If you win, I will seriously consider this alliance."

Raikai's serpent-like pupils gleamed as he stepped forward. Unlike Shin Rai, he wasn't laughing.

Xue Mor turned to Shinryu briefly. He gave her a small nod but remained silent.

She rolled her shoulders and faced Raikai directly. "Fine."

The duel was set.
