As the sun rose upon the horizon, the angelic sound of a drum being banged at hard in the early morning echoed in the Ling Wu sect
BAM, BAM, BAM
'Not again' Xiao Yun groaned as he fell face-first into the floor again. he felt like he was never getting used to the sound of that drum in the morning anytime soon and the sounds of the cursing in the other dorms told him the other disciples are not getting used to it either.
He grumbled as he got up rubbing the bruise on his forehead, as he wanted to get back to bed, he then remembered he and Zhang Wei had agreed to meet at the library so he had to get up.
Xiao Yun got up and cleaned the room though there was nothing to really clean since he didn't have much, he tried to look presentable, even though he had a comically red bump on his forehead.
As Xiao Yun finished tying his hair (hiding the bump under his hair) a knock echoed at the door. He hurried to open it, revealing Zhang Wei standing there, his hands tucked behind his back. Xiao Yun's gaze flickered to his hair—it wasn't tied up like the day before, instead flowing freely over his shoulders. For a moment, silence hung between them until Zhang Wei finally spoke in a low, hesitant voice.
"Can you do me a favor"
As he said this his hands were still behind his back as if hiding something important
Xiao Yun was curious about what he was hiding so he said yes
Zhang Wei revealed what was behind his back a long dark red ribbon showed itself
Xiao Yun at first was confused tilting his head at Zhang Wei, who after spotting Xiao Yun was confused pointed at his hair.
"Oh! You want me to do your hair"
Xiao Yun caught on he had forgotten that Zhang Wei was a young master from the modern era so how would he know how to tie a ribbon
He stepped back to let Zhang Wei into the dorm, feeling great-full that he cleaned the room in the morning
Zhang Wei sat on the little wooden stool in front of the small mirror
He looked very out of place with the sword on his side and the blank look on his face, Xiao Yun had thought the sight to be amusing
He took the red tie from Zhang Wei and stood behind him he grabbed a brush and started to brush the dark long silky hair
It was silent in the room the only sound there was was the sound of the brush running through the hair
As Xiao Yun with skilled hands held the hair and ribbon at the same time he felt like he was in the past fixing the hair of the little sisters in the orphanage, he missed them.
Xiao Yun felt Zhang Wei's piercing eyes on his hands he smiled awkwardly feeling goosebumps forming on his skin from the gaze, he lowered his head to avoid the stare.
".....do you want to learn how to tie up your hair"
Zhang Wei nodded quickly xiao yun first finished his hair then took the green ribbon out of his hair and gave it to Zhang Wei then sat on the stool
" grab the hair and loop the ribbon...'
Xiao Yun explained each step to Zhang Wei who followed the steps very stiffly,
It ended up with Xiao Yun's hair being a bit lopsided. Zhang Wei looked displeased with the finished product. He took the ribbon out and tried it over and over again until he was satisfied with it.
"Let's go"
Zhang Wei turned to the door waiting for xiao yun who was holding his behind because he had sat for so long that his butt hurt
Xiao Yun rushed to Zhang Wei's side and followed as both traversed the route to the library. Xiao Yun kept looking around admiring all the structures because it was the first time he had gone out, everything here looked like something straight out of a novel.
There was greenery everywhere century old trees standing tall, pavilions that looked out of imperial palaces it was a splendid scene
Both of them were astounded at this beautiful scene looking around themselves in awe but Zhang Wei recovered quickly and dragged Xiao Yun out of his daze to go ask some questions
Some people saw their unfamiliar actions and looked arrogantly at them as if they are superior, so they had to be careful not to get duked by some asshole
Zhang Wei stopped a disciple who looked harmless and asked where is the library The disciple pointed in a direction and when he saw xiao yun who didn't have a sword by him informed them
"The library is to the left it has a sign saying Lingzhi Pavilion and if you both are going together to study about mages or martial artists you're going to have to separate"
Zhang Wei questioned more the disciple told them the mage and martial arts sections are separated one to the left and one to the right it seems like both sides have a rivalry.
The new comers know this because the sect wants both sides to get along but if you go to the side that's not yours ,you're asking for trouble
A section martial artists and mages go to together is the magical beast section and the reason is that both sides want a magical beast for themself either for protection or profit from selling them
Xiao Yun had thought this world couldn't get anymore strange until he heard of the magical beast. He clenched his fists even more resolved to stay in the sect if he were to go outside the sect without any knowledge, he would die not knowing what killed him
" is the history separated to"
Zhang Wei inquired, and the disciple replied no so Zhang Wei and Xiao Yun after getting the answers they needed said their thank yous and went on their way
They saw a sophisticated pavilion with a big plaque-making word lingzhi pavilion with lively and practiced calligraphy disciple coming in and out with books in their hands
They were stopped at the entrance by guards
"Show your badges"
Xiao Yun got closer to Zhang Wei and whispered "What badges"
The guards had a high cultivation so they had of course heard what Xiao Yun said
"Your disciple badge"
The guards demanded raising their voices getting irritated Zhang Wei searched around his body to find a badge in robes and raised it to the guards
Xiao Yun did the same and also found a badge the disciple he possessed had only a few robes so Xiao Yun wore the robe that had the badge it
Xiao Yun sighed thinking his lucky because if he didn't bring it he would have to go to his dorm and then back to the library
After they both showed their badges they passed into the library xiao yun marveled at the expansive library shelves that were made of hundred-year-old trees and held books of all kinds and as the disciple said there were sections
People were on the tables or the floor reading and some were looking for books.
"Okay let's do it like this we first go to the history and geography sections together then we separate to go to the mage and martial arts sections"
Xiao Yun agreed with him so they both went to search for books
