Xiao Yun had quickly arrived at the martial artist side. The class had just been dismissed, the disciples being let out.
He started to walk around, looking for Zhang Wei. Somebody yelled for him from behind. Xiao Yun turned back, thinking it was Zhang Wei who had yelled out for him. He had been sorely mistaken—he had answered to Shen Hao.
Xiao Yun's happy expression immediately turned blank.
Shen Hao's expression was anything but friendly, an evil look on his face, as if he wanted to pulverize Xiao Yun where he stood.
Xiao Yun felt a pang of dread settle in his chest and wanted to pretend he saw nothing, turning back like nothing had happened. But a vice-like grip clamped onto Xiao Yun's shoulder, radiating hostility.
Seeing a drama happening, a crowd gathered around like last time, interested to see those two face off again.
Someone said,
"Shen Hao has come to settle accounts with him again! This will be good."
Shen Hao gritted out,
"You think after what you did, this young master and the Shen family will let you go?"
"…
…Who are you?"
The crowd "oohhh"-ed when Xiao Yun said that, looking to see what Shen Hao was going to do. The only thing missing from the scene was a pot of tea and melon seeds.
'Do these people have nothing to do except watch as if this is a play?'
Xiao Yun did not want to face off against this snobby young master again. He took Shen Hao's hand off his shoulder, got a handkerchief out from his sleeve, and wiped his shoulder.
"WHY YO—"
Shen Hao almost had another temper tantrum but calmed himself down when he saw the crowd that had gathered. Trying to look amicable, he preached,
"Fellow disciple, I'm really not a disagreeable person, but somebody punching someone out of the blue is not cordial."
Even the crowd could call out his bullshit, They had all seen with their own eyes that he had pushed that freshman disciple and got what he deserved.
Xiao Yun sneered.
"Neither is pushing someone because they talked to a girl that would never like you. Now, if you'll excuse me or not—goodbye, Shixiong Shen Haozi."
T/L: For people who didn't get it, our Xiao Xiao said his name wrongly and literally called him "Shen the Rat."
After that, Xiao Yun turned back and excused himself from the crowd, walking slowly until he saw that no one was following him. Then, he bolted, the only thing left in his path being dust and his afterimages.
Xiao Yun had been on edge every second of that interaction, his heart racing rapidly, but he kept a straight and blank face.
'Would this guy leave me alone? I only came here to do business, not fight with this little ancestor.'
Xiao Yun wanted to curse when he looked up, seeing that the sky was already getting dark.
Xiao Yun didn't know where Zhang Wei's dorm was, so he had to go back. As he got up to walk back dispiritedly, he saw Zhang Wei walking toward him. He was so elated, but the first thing that came out of that hateful Zhang Wei's mouth was—
"Why are you here?"
Xiao Yun really wanted to vomit blood when he heard this. He had gone through all that trouble to see him, only for that guy to say those detached and cold words.
When Zhang Wei uttered that, he became aware that the temperature around them had dropped.
He took two steps away from Xiao Yun, feeling that something was wrong, which made the air even colder.
Xiao Yun walked up silently, searched Zhang Wei from top to bottom to find his dorm number, and walked off.
Zhang Wei could do nothing but follow him helplessly though he kept him at arms length, feeling like a kid who had done something bad, trailing after his fuming mother.
When Xiao Yun went inside the dorm, he calmed down, remembering what he had come here for. He looked at Zhang Wei, who was standing in the corner.
Seeing that he had calmed down, Zhang Wei cautiously sat next to him.
"I came here to ask you if you want to go down the mountain with me to earn money somehow."
Zhang Wei crossed his arms.
"I already thought about that. We can probably go out to town if we ask for permission. The problem is—what are we going to do to make money?"
Xiao Yun felt Zhang Wei staring at him, as though he was expecting him to say something—and he was right.
"I can make the pills, but you have to do all the other business."
Xiao Yun felt that if he were the one to sell the pills, he would get scammed—a sentiment Zhang Wei shared but wouldn't voice at this moment, since Xiao Yun had just calmed down.
Xiao Yun suddenly thought of Le Xing, getting inspiration. He quickly told Zhang Wei,
"I've made friends with someone who could probably help us find a good shop to sell the pills at and provide us with some important information."
Zhang Wei thought for a second, then said,
"That disciple who got pushed by that guy, Shen Hao?"
Xiao Yun was a bit disappointed by his answer, wanting him to guess a little more.
"How did you know?"
Zhang Wei explained,
"You defended him, so you're close. And he seems sociable."
Those couple of words were all correct. Though Xiao Yun wasn't surprised—this could all be known easily—it was just that Zhang Wei had answered too quickly.
Zhang Wei was skeptical
" do you really think we can trust and why should we trust him not to swindle us "
Xiao Yun understood his concern but
" he is my friend I don't think he do that he character is good natured"
Xiao Yun had been meeting up with Le Xing to chat they have already built a solid friendship with each other.
Zhang Wei finally agreed after a a lot of persuasion.
So Xiao Yun and Zhang Wei got everything straightened out.
Zhang Wei would be meeting with Le Xing to get advice and information for business in a few days, while Xiao Yun would focus on making pills.
They agreed to meet up often to discuss business ideas and progress.
When Xiao Yun got back to his dorm, he felt a crisis. Though he had learned how to make a pill, he still needed to practice and make good enough pills to sell—or they wouldn't be making any money.
He took out the herbs and cauldron from the qi bag, feeling determination well up in his chest.
As he plopped the herbs into the cauldron, he started to remember the steps Teacher Bai had taught. Since he had already done this before, he was a little more familiar. He guessed this was a benefit of Teacher Bai's learning method.
When he reached the distillation step, the cauldron trembled faintly, as though resisting his control. Spiritual energy drained from his core at an alarming rate, leaving his limbs weak and his vision hazy. He gritted his teeth.
'Just a little longer…'
Xiao Yun endured until he felt he couldn't hold out any longer. He felt faint, his eyes closing against his will. An hour later, when he woke up again, he got up and looked into the cauldron.
It was a complete failure. A black goo sat at the bottom of the cauldron.
After some thinking, Xiao Yun figured out why he had failed.
He hadn't given his full attention to the pill, his mind straying away with worry. Last time, he didn't have this pressure because he was only doing it for himself, but now that someone else was involved, he felt the weight of responsibility and feared failure.
This was something Teacher Bai had explained.
He rested for a couple of minutes before trying again, this time with his mind free of distractions, because he thought—
'So what if we can't sell pills? We can just do something else. It's not like the world is going to end.'
He drew a diagram of the steps he already knew in his mind, doing every step very carefully and slowly.
Finally, a light blue pill, as bright as the sky, emerged.
When Xiao Yun looked at it, his first thought was—
'Success.'
The grade of a pill could be superficially distinguished by its color—the lighter the color, the better the grade.
After succeeding, Xiao Yun felt rejuvenated, which led him to make more pills. Though there were failures, most were successes.
The next day Xiao Yun meet up with Le Xing and explained the situation to him.
Le xing had agreed to meet with Zhang Wei and said that he also wanted to go down to the town.
But a condition is he would get a bit of the money made for the info
Le Xing teased
" Xiao Yun i better get a bit of that money or I will start charging for each question asked"
Which Xiao Yun wholeheartedly agreed with because he had been feeling guilty that he was all ways asking questions and needing help though it was not his fault.
How would he know was going to transport to another world after going camping?
