Chapter 10

She'd be dead if she slowed down. The killer would open the door and slit her throat.

Suddenly, I heard a muffled thud.

The door to room 402 had clearly been forced open by the murderer.

Luna screamed in terror, scrambling down even faster. She didn't even wait to get her footing on the AC unit before swinging her other leg down.

"You can't escape!"

The killer burst in and grabbed a fistful of Luna's hair.

Luna struggled desperately.

Then her foot slipped, and she was about to plummet from the fourth floor.

"Luna!"

I shouted.

I didn't want her to die so quickly!

So I grabbed her hand.

"Save me, please don't let go!"

Powered by a fierce will to live, Luna clung to me for dear life.

Her face was etched with fear as her feet scrabbled against the wall, searching for purchase.

I yanked on her arm.

Luna wasn't particularly heavy, but for some reason she felt like dead weight now.

I thought my arm might be wrenched from its socket.
